Some people never learn that saying thank you is essential and just plain good manners.

Exactly buttrfli!! My son who is 2 years old has been saying it for as long as he could make noise, just by making the sylabols (sp?) And if you do not say you are welcome back to him he just continues to say it ty ty ty ty over and over till you say your are welcome. My DD who will be 8 was also taught to say thank you, my grandmother was told last week how polite she is when ever she goes to a certain restuarant we frequent. It is rediculous though when adults can not say a word.

I don't expect ppl to get down on their knees & kiss my feet, but a nice "thanks" would be nice!

I think not saying thank you is rude, but not ignorant..It was probably just not to some people as kids..

Every time I see threads like this I sit here and think "did I not thank this person for something?" LOL If this is about me, then I'm sorry. I always try to say Thanks or Thank you to everyone who helps me out or posts a freebie or whatever. :)

Ever since I can remember this has been a part of my DAILY ROUTINE. I even say please, thank you to Aggie for opening a door, getting something, doing something around the house. Even Scooby before he could talk (where you understand) would stumble with please (peas), kank u (thank you)....still he got it across one way or another. Now adays there's no attempt even made. Little Scooby says it in her own way.....you have to be around her to understand her but she says it ALL THE TIME.

We're in a new generation and I'm not sure if it was in their vocabulary growing up.....think they have a lot to learn. Please and thank you will get you a long way in life w/some things. Only commen courtesy.....if you ask me.

JMO

Hotwheels I do too, I thank DH for everything, even just sometimes for being a wonderful husband Ya know the generation thing is no excuse really my 8 and 2 year old are very polite, and my next one will be too or I will kick butt. LOL There isno reason to be rude what so ever it only takes a second to let someone know how much you appreciate what they have done!!
