My Oldest son got into a wreck yesterday afternoon (long)

What a day yesterday was. I was so worried about the Prom the night before and then he ends up in a crash right near our house yesterday, He just left to go bring his Tux back.
My Son Nick just left the house and we heard a hugh crash, Hubby of course says what the f@#% was that? I looked at him and said Nick just left!! and i ran outside and i seen it was him and i yelled for my hubby to get out here, Nick had blood pouring from his nose and mouth, I freaked out! I had no shoes on and did'nt even think about cutting my feet on glass! I ran up to him and hugged him, then i went to the other guy and asked if he was ok, he said i'm fine go take care of him. I then ran home and got a wet towel and ran back and my son was sitting down on the ground, the neighbor got him a chair to sit on and made him sit, the car is totaled. The ambulance came and i made my son go to the hospital, he has 7 stitches in his mouth and a banged up shoulder and knee.
As we got into the ambulance though the other guy then started complining he was hurt :mad:
The other guy is trying to say it was my son's fault but there is an investigation going on right now, nobody is cited. It looks like it was the other guys fault though, my son pulled out to go left, and the other guy was driving north and my son just made it in the right lane where this guy in a pick-up hit my son in the front drivers side, He hit my son so hard he flipped my son's car around and pushed him at least 10 feet! That guy ended up in a ditch on the opposit side of the road and his drivers side got damaged, the skid marks from that guy were at least 80 feet and it started out on his side of the road and just before impack it went left of center where both vehicals hit.
I never seen so much blood before he had puddles of it, i'm crying cause my baby is hurt.
The fireman said there is no way nick could get faulted just the way it looks, but they don't have a say in it.
My husband took out our video camera and took pictures of our car, the guys truck and skid marks just in case we need it!
Also my insurance called this morning and told me these people were trying to make a claim (which i know they have to) but the lady was telling her it was my son's fault and when i told my insurance lady that Nick was'nt faulted she was like oh ok and she said untill the investigation is over the insurance agency's will have to wait and then battle it out. What also p!$$es me off is that the other people had our insurance but we did'nt have theres, and we also had a claim number but they did'nt have one, My insurance called the highway patrol and we have to wait till wednesday to talk to the trooper who is doing the investigation (my son was already on his way to the hospital when the trooper showed up) So i did end up with a claim number for the other guy now as my insurance lady got it from the state troopers office.
here is a picture of his car, oh to the left of the firetruck you can just see a green and white van, thats our house. Our insurance lady also said nick is such a good driver we never have any problems with him.
The drivers side windo was rolled up, the guy smashed it and nick now has pieces of glass in his face thet the hospital said they can'not remove it all as it is very tine, he said as it heals his body will push it out, also the hood was down and when they got the hood opened finally the battery was pushed to the opposit side of the car, also his steering wheel and dash is screwed up bad! Nick had steering wheel marks on his back also the hospital told him thank goodness he had glasses on as they protected his eyes from the glass!

I'm sorry you have to go through this, thank goodness that he is okay though! It could have been much worse, I hope he recovers quickly. Hang in there!

Sorry your son had to go through this... but I'm glad he's gonna be ok!! Hope everything works out w/ the insurance... Some guy pulled out in front of me about 3 years ago and tried to say it was our fault cause there were no skid marks so I obviously didn't hit my brakes... the insurance company (his, cause he was quite full of sh*t) took forever to grant out claim. I hope yours is resolved much faster!!!

Don't let the other people get away with filing a claim on you! Your son definitely doesn't need a claim on his insurance at his age.....I would definitely contact a lawyer if DPS doesn't find in your son's favor.

I am sooooo glad your son is gonna be OK! Sorry you have to deal with the crap from the other guy though. I was in an accident when I was 18 (almost 40 now) and I got tons of tiny shards of glass in my hands that hospital couldn't remove, to this day every now and then a tiny piece will fester up out of my hand, no big deal just a little sore spot and bam...out pops a piece of glass! LOL! You think it would be gone by now! So don't worry about the glass that is left in him, it will be ok.

i would say from the looks of that pic your son is VERY lucky he wasnt injured more...thank god!

Im sorry that happened. in 2002, I had a woman pull out of a parking lot and cram me right in the side. She was totally at fault, she even changed her story several times to her own insurance company.

This is a sticky situation. he may try to claim whiplash, which is very hard to disprove, cause it's a form of nerve damage. it's like this : I stare at this screen long enough, I lean back, boom I have whiplash and I sue everybody. (ok,ok, I know my form of humor sucks)

last night was another horrible night, he kept waking up he even said he was hot and opened his door and put a fan at the doorway, Nick never does that he always sleeps with his door shut. I'm still a wreck about the whole ordeal!
He did go to school today, but he really was'nt up to it, he's still bruised up and his mouth is so swollen, he can hardly talk because it hurts him...Trust me it hurts me alot to see him that way. I still can't sleep at night because i'm worried. I close my eyes and i still see the accident and him bleeding. But in do time we will get over this, i'm sure

My sister was in a car accident Friday. It was the other persons fault. She was at a complete stop at a stop sign in the right hand land. The man who hit her was in the left lane. He failed to look before trying to make a right turn in a left lane. Now, how the SOB didn't get cited is unknown to me. Due to neither party getting cited both insurance companies denied the claims. Now, my sister has to take the man to court in order to get her car repaired. The moral of the story, Don't be surprised when the other party insurance company refuses to pay for damages due to neither party getting cited.

Well i have my car so i will be driving him around, he really don't want to drive right now, he's still shaken up. Tomorrow he has to talk to the state trooper and tell his side of the story, so i will let you know what we find out.

But DH wants to know why the guy only left 1 skid mark? did only 1 brake work and 3 did'nt? hmmmmm i'll let you all know tomorrow.

Well we just got back from the Stater troopers office and My son gave his side, the trooper was really nice but that does not help any, Nick was cited for failure to yield and the other guy got nothing.
Nick is so hurt right now, he's mad and just plain upset. I told him it could have been worse they could have got you for a few more offences.
I talked to the insurance lady and she said just because the other guy was not cited that does not mean that nick is all that fault, the insurance company's now will battle it out.
I need some prayers for Nick right now, i have never seen him so upset...Reality just struck him today after he got cited, he's upset he has no car, he's upset about the ticket, just about everything right now is bothering him and he's bringing me down :( I just feel horrible for him
