Still havent recieved our State Tax return

we have called them and at first they were saying it would take about 6 weeks, ok then they said it would take about 8 weeks, now they are saying it could take longer then 8 weeks cause they are douple checking the SS numbers cause they dont wanna give away more money then they have to :confused: We have Never had to wait this long, it has been about 3 months. We could really use that money right now, we have been planning on paying off a couple little things with it. We were expecting it a while ago.

We have direct depost so it isnt like they have to Mail us a check :( Dh has been upset about it, blames it on me cause I talked him into filing over the internet instead of going to H&R block and spending $$$ for them to do it. SO yea we have been fighting a lot over this. :( :( Fun Fun Fun :(

Hey tell DH to cool his jets that its the goverment and not you or the net thats taking so long.

I file every year by internet and one yr i never got anything because i had been randomly picked for AUDIT. Took over 6 months to get that return :(

I don't know if it differs by state but I live in CA and filed earlier this month and already have my state tax refund. The federal one always takes longer though.

We filed over the net too..That has nothing ot do with it..I know they had to double check BIL's and Ex SIL, because he has full custody of their kids, and of course filed with both of the girls as dependants, but the ex filed listing her youngest as a dependant...

we got our federal back kinda quickly, i know state will take a few weeks but geeze it has been a few months.

We filed like we always do, the two of us and the 3 kids. dh only had 2 w-2's and I didnt work last year so that was it. It wasnt a hard return to do. It is just crazy.

we have, first time they said it would take about 6 weeks, next time we called they said up to 8 weeks, last time we called {about 2 weeks ago} they said it could take a little over 8 weeks, the reason is they were double checking ss#'s cause they didnt wanna give away more money then they had to.


When I call or get online this is what is says "We have received your return and it is being processed. No further information is available. Please wait at least one week to access this service again. Thank you for contacting the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. This information is current as of 04/24/2004"

Now this morning the date said 04/22/2004, when we say something to them about the site not being updated we hear that the system is down and will be back up later in the afternoon. I wish they would just tell us what is going on, that way we know.

Guess we were lucky. We filed our state (OH) taxes online on 4/14, refund was direct deposited in our savings on 4/19. I couldnt believe how fast it was.

our state took 9 weeks and federal.... well I sent them in jan 23 and we JUST got our return a few weeks ago

well I called them back this afternoon. He said that if you filed by mail it could take 12 weeks, efile it would take about 6-8 weeks. Because I couldnt do it with the thing I filed fedral {cant remember site now lol} I mailed it in. So that means we should be getting it soon, it has been about 12 weeks now. At least now we know why it has taken so long, course they could have told us this when we first called weeks ago.
