Let me start by saying that I had ALL of my teeth pulled a little over a year ago. I had a degenerative gum disease that was making my teeth rot from the inside out. I got tired of spending $4000 a year to keep up with them and they were REALLY bad cosmetically (I mean they were GROSS) so I had them pulled.

About 6 mo after, I started getting an infection in the back of my gums... went to the dentist and he looked in my mouth, turned to the tech and told her to get an xray because he has never seen anything like it.....

The tech comes back with the xray and it was a wisdom tooth coming in!! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled when I went in the last time. My denstist goes on to tell me that it is rare (hes never seen it till now) but some people have 2 sets of wisdom teeth. The second set will rarely come in unless the 1st set is pulled. My dentist tells me I have 3 choices:

a) go to an oral surgeon and have them taken out
b) wait until they are all the way in and he can pull them (no charge)
c) live with them

well, I decided to let them come in and let my dentist pull them.. i can't afford an oral surgeon and I certainly can't live with them. it has been a year since they started coming in and they have FINALLY cut through the skin (teething is very painful LOL) so now I am just waiting on them to come in a bit more so I can have them pulled.

I go to my dentist last week and he takes more xrays.... I have TWO more teeth coming in!!! they are on the bottom in the front. My dentist is totally at a loss by now and basically tells me I have the same options I have with my wisdom teeth.....

I can't friggin believe that I have to have 4 teeth pulled AGAIN! :( It hurt like everything when I had the 28 done all at once and I was SO happy when I started feeling better that I would never have to go through that again... thats what I get for thinking!!

The worst part of all is that..... I would have NEVER spent $2000 for new teeth if I had known that I was going to grow new ones!!! LOL

Is it possible that you never lost your baby teeth and thats what the dentist pulled? Hubby still has one of his baby teeth and the dentist keeps telling him that someday he will lose it and his 2nd tooth will come in. Hope you feel better soon.

Ow wow you poor dear, I know what you're going through ALMOST. I just had all my teeth pulled last august and within 2 months I had 2 of my 4 wisdom teeth coming in (One was pulled along with the rest of my teeth) I felt like some kind of genetic freak because Its so rare. I was so scared when they took x-rays (I thought for sure they'd find more teeth or something) But only the wisdom. I still have one more tooth but its "Floating" around in my gums. I say just go in when they're all ready and have them pull them. The sooner the better.
Hows your gums doing now that the teeth are gone? I hope you're doing much better :) Thats one of the good things about having no teeth, It lessens any pain like that.

MAma... I got dentures too - I am GLAD I have them. My teeth are straight now and they will never get cavities or get darker AND I can take them out to brush them LOL :D

I had a mouth full of extra teeth. Some baby, some secondary and then some third ones and one that was trying to come in between my front two teeth. Having pulled 20 some odd teeth out of my mouth I have all secondary teeth.

It happens. And on top of that I only had three wisdom teeth.

I wouldn't mind it so bad except I can't wear my bottom teeth at all ... not that anyone can tell, but it's more irritating than anything, not to mention painful!

I feel your pain! I am going through the same problem you are having. I had all my teeth pulled 5 years ago. I never wear mine at home either. It's like taking off your shoes when you come home lol. :p

I am a former dental assistant. If your dds had took a panorex (lg xray) he would of seen your third molars. Sounds like you had some baby teeth and after they were pulled your perm ones came in.Find another dentist! Good Luck!

I agree with Ang, I am a dental assistant and the dds should of taken a panorex especially if you were having all of them taken out. Find another dentist. That is a lot of hassle you shouldn't have to go through. Glad you are feeling better. :)
