I HATE being called a liar when I know that I am telling the truth. I just called to make a car payment over the phone. The lady said they needed my updated information. I asked what info she wants. She said she needs my home phone number. I don't have a home phone, I don't NEED one. My finacee' and I have cell phones and we have cable internet. No need for another monthly bill. She was not happy with that. Then she says she needs my address because I moved. Yes I did move, IN NOVEMBER! I gave them my address then and they send my statement to my house every month. Then she has the nerve to ask me why I am giving her attitude. Umm, OK, by telling them that nothing has changed, I'm giving attitude. RIGHT. Then she asks me where I work. I tell her that info is the same also. She tells me that the address they have is a post office box. Yeah, you're so right, I work in a post office box. It's a tight squeeze but we like the togetherness.
Actually, the address they have is our "main" office. But it is the ONLY address we give out and we DO have an office there. For our security, we do not and can not give the address where we actually drive to every day. Then she tell me "I know people who work there". I doubt it, but if that's the case, why don't YOU tell ME what the address is. These people have been giving me a hard time since I got the car. I make my payments, so GO AWAY!

It's amazing how people don't believe that you don't have a home phone number. I only have my cell phone and that's what I use. I give it as every number they ask for.
And if your business has a PO box then that's what they have. I don't know why the physical addess is that important. They aren't going to be stopping by your work real soon.

Schsa, I haven't had anyone else ask about the cell phone thing, just this heifer.
And as far as the work address, it's NOT a PO Box. It is an actual address where we have an actual office. So what if they only keep the servers there? It's an address and that's all you need to know.

Frankly...this woman is the one with the attitude. However...they want a physical address just in case they do need to "stop by" and repossess. It helps to have as many addresses as possible.
Not that justinycole is going to become delinquent on her payments...

ITA If a person defaults on their loan and they send the repo man to you house and you are not there they will go to your work to take the car. They will also watch you for a few days and when you leave to go somewhere like the grocery store as soon as you leave the vehicle about 25 sec. later they will be pulling out of the parking lot with your vehicle in tow. Ive never had a repo but my little brother is repo man and they are ruthless they get paid by the car usually so they will do whatever is needed to get the vehicle.

Let them come repo on me....
I bought DD a car in Jan and its licensed and titled under "MY" name and address not my daughters who drives and keeps the car at her house. The car lot knows she is the driver and is insured to drive it and drives the 30 mins to make the payments every month........but its listed to me.If they had reason to repo it they wouldn't know where its kept...lol
That lady was just being a b*tch IMO

We had a problem last month and could not make the entire payment so I sent half, thinking that would be better than nothing. Then the phone calls began! Daily, sometimes twice a day. Over $98. Our payment is $198. I realize that we owe the money. I realize that we should have been more prepared. I also realize we should budget more carefully and that these people did not have to lend us the money for our Van. I realize all of these things. But, this is the FIRST time since we had the loan that this happened. All other payments have been on time or early. I go to call the other day to let them know I was mailing the regular payment and would make the missed half payment on May 7th. It is the best we could do. I refuse to let my kids go without groceries over a van or our vehicles to go without gas. (and before anyone HAS to make a snide remark about my internet service, I HAVE to have it for my job. It makes more sense for me to stay home and work.) And it is not like we sent nothing and did not let them know. The lady who answered treated me like the worst deadbeat on skid row. I used to do bad check collections and we were never allowed to be that nasty. She tried to tell me they charge a $5 per day fee. (lie~not in the contract) I called her on it and she said, "Well ya'll just need to pay your bills then." I hung up on her. I called back to make a payment by phone and the next person was nice and took my payment and made arrangements for the half payment we are behind. She was professional and polite. I have decided to write a "cease and desist" letter, stating the ONLY way they can contact us is by phone. I had them calling at all hours, including before 8 am. That is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I told them in the letter, WHICH is being sent certified so they have to sign for it, that if they continue with the rude phone calls, I will sue them. And I mean it. Look, I can see an attitude when you are several payments in the hole and you are not making ANY effort, but not over a HALF payment.
We are going to pay off this stupid loan as fast as we can. I never want to do business with these people ever again.
