Pa. Woman Charged With Killing Young Sons
By MARK SCOLFORO
MOUNT JOY, Pa. (AP) - A woman was charged with criminal homicide in the deaths of her two small sons after police traced a 911 call from someone who said: ``I did something really bad. I just killed my kids.''
Meghan V. Lippiatt allowed police responding to the call Sunday into a farmhouse where they found Silas, 2, and Miles, 4 months, under a blanket on a bed. They apparently died of suffocation, and Silas' hands were bound behind his back with flexible handcuffs, police in south-central Pennsylvania said.
Lippiatt, 28, was hospitalized for an overdose of over-the-counter painkillers. A hospital spokeswoman would not release her condition.
A note recovered from the scene read, in part: ``I am sorry, I didn't want to hurt anyone. ... I am sorry, goodbye. Please help me from the grave.''
Lippiatt and the two boys recently moved back to her parents' Lancaster County home from England, where they had been living, Susquehanna Regional Police Chief William B. Roberts said.
The father, Daniel Lippiatt, lives in England and has been notified of the deaths, Roberts said.
Police said Meghan Lippiatt's father told them she had been distraught lately and had previously threatened suicide.
Investigators said autopsies on Monday failed to establish an exact cause of death for the boys, and more tests were scheduled.
