Vent about DH!!!

(I guess this is the week to gripe about our husbands cause here I go)


My Dh has made me so mad tonight!!! Grrrr!!! He really is a swetie, don't get me wrong. He works very very hard so we have everything we need. Sometimes there are times I just want to choke him though.

He thinks the money is just overflowing from our bank account. Grrrr!!!

We got our federal income taxes back a few months ago ok, I paid bills but had to make sure I left out a big chunk of money for him to buy a John Deere riding lawn mower w/ cart. (This was a major purchase for us considering the next most expensive thing besides my car.) I was ok with this until it came time to pay more bills and he is like well what happened to all that money we got back. Dahhh!! Look in the friggin garage!!

So anyway, needless to say I got nothing for myself from the federal return. That is fine, dh got his TOY, kids got a few things and new shoes. I specifically told him that when the state return came I was doing something for myself, I wanted a printer scanner and camera (digital). Which I went and bouthgt all of this stuff plus a phot printer for around $200 ( I got a great deal on all of it at Target) I was so proud of myself. Anyway, so this stuff was not even 10% of what his tractor was, so I was going to put some money towards a new desk and entertainment center. Here I am I paid some bills (tiny ones $30 and $50) but anyway!!!! The story............ of why I am so irked!!!

Tonight DH says to me when is that state check coming?? I was like it came on Monday and I put it in the bank, I said how do you think I could afford to buy this stuff ( printer/scanner, camera, and photo shop) I sadi I called and asked if you cared if I bought the stuff you said I dont care as long as the bills are paid. He says well I thought you ment outta my pay check. OMG!!!! How much do you think you made?? I had to pay the bills, so it is gone geez oh man. So then he asks me DId you pick up the car DVD player from Walmart?? Ummm no, I am not spend the whole friggin return on something I had planned on making payments on. He says well go pick it up tommrow then. Huh?? You gotta be joking me buddy!!! You have gotta be crazy!! So anyway , he gets mad at me cause I said I just wanted to make payments on it and will not talk to me anymore about it. I would rather have the money in my checking account than buy this darn DVD player we really do not need. It is a car for goodness sakes not a friggin theater!!!!

So he tells me well if you are not going to go get it tommorow then just take it off cause we can not get it any other time. Ok but what if we didn't get this return?? How would we have afforded it?? Ummm I think the word is payments on layaway!!! HELLO!!!!!! Lets wake up and use commmon sense here ok!!!

It just makes me mad because here I sit I got stuff for our computer that both of us will us along with our kids, he has a brand new tractor and still it is not enough!! He acts like as soon as I get any kind of money that it should be used to buy some item we can live without!! It isn't like he is gonna sit on the friggin back of our car to watch the dvds. Heck we don't even own any dvd movies yet. (well that is a fib I got 4 at the dollar store with old cartoons on them ie Woodywood Pecker, Betty Boop, etc.) Anyway, I am so furious I could just scream. I really wanted to save up some money to buy some stuff for the new baby and finish paying off his speeding ticket or put it towards an entertainment center and desk.

Next year it will be the same thing. I know it. And I am really in need of a new bedroom outfit, ours is so old, and falling to peices. LOL But no we will more than likely have to buy something we will not have any need for or something he NEEDS desperately!!


I guess I should probably go and sew his stinking pockets since now that money is burning a hole in them!!! Could someone pass me a cup of water first so I don't get caught on the smoldering ashes?? LOL

(He is a great husband and works his butt off for us and has as long as I have known him. He would do anything to make sure we have what we need, but I needed to get this out so I don't fight with him about it. )

Honey, do you feel better now that you shared with us?
I hope so because these miscommunications with the spouse are no fun at all (*even when you are in the right, girl!*) (*Yes, you are in the right in this case!*)

DH and I split the returns 50/50. It seems to work for our house. I usually use my 50% towards vacation. Next year it'll go for college bills for DS#1.

Sounds like he is being a bit selfish, I know those john deere tractor mowers are not cheap so sounds like he made out like a bandit, stand firm on the dvd, why have it when you don't really have dvds anyway. MEN!!!! Mine likes to buy his toys, and I let him, but he also lets me have mine, he bought me my camera, and my other stuff, so I guess I am lucky that way. He has had his moments, but he heard me tell him how I felt and he changed a bit:) Hope yours realizes how you feel and that he needs to learn to share.

i got one that likes toys that we don't need either. So I can relate. The most recent was a dvd burner. OMG, If I could sell half the crap in his office, I'd be a rich woman. I do hope u feel better. I know I get where I could just scream big time.

I Agree With Everybody, Hold On The Dvd. My Sweetie, Didn't Get His Taxes This Year, His Jobs Didn't Take Enough Out, So He Owed The Irs, $9.00. He Was Mad As Heck. I Told Him $9.00, Is Better Then Owing $900.00. When He Gets His Paycheck, I Pay The Bills And Deduct His Carfare For Work, And Get My Allowance. If, He Has Anything Left, I Give It To Him. He Has His Exspenseve Toys, Too. Like Paintball, Guns And Stuff, Which He Rarely Uses. When We Argue Over Money, I Tell Him, To Take His Stuff Back To The Store So He Can Have Some Money In His Pocket, If, It Is That Important To Him, And Then I Smile, Cause I Hold On To My Money, Untill I See Something I Really Want, And Then I Spend Some Of It. All men like toys but it's the boys in them that make them think the price tag is invisible.

I dont get the DVD players in the cars unless it comes equipped in there already like the SUV's do. DD has the Chrysler Cirrus i bought her and they installed the dashboard DVD player and i think it looks silly as hell. Its a tiny 5'inch screen ya really cant see too well unless its dark outside......senseless to me!
But who's to argue with boys and their toys right..STAND FIRM BRANDY!

* may i also suggest you start a little honey pot for yourself that he doesnt know about that way when he decides to spend like that you have some put aside for something YOU want also!

I understand, We will have our car paid off next month. Hubby already started making plans on what He could spend the money on. When He already told me I could have the first two months to buy clothes for Him and I. I havent had a new outfit in about 3 years. He needs pants really bad but would rather have his toys which are computer parts and very expensive.

My DH was the same way with our taxes we got over 7K and out of that I got my computer(on sale at BestBuy) and husband got a new truck, about $800 in electronic equipment, we paid off some bills and spoiled the kids. And with what was left I wanted to put in savings for emergencies or a vacation but he wouldn't have that,he HAD to spend it ALL! And then once it was all gone he complained that he didn't have the money to go buy his video games or fishing stuff whenever the mood struck. I told him maybe he should return the $500 TV that we didn't need because we already have 3 other TV's. That made him mad of course. He is always like that though he gets mad because the majority of his weekly check goes to bills and he cant just go spend however he wants...too bad I say thats why you have food, gas, lights, cable,ect. and with 3 little kids I refuse to leave us with only 40 bucks for 3-4 days until payday , but the little boy in him refuses to comprehend that

UCK!!!!!!! That sounds like MY husband and we are currentily in the last stages of divorce, what was his was his, what was mine was his, including $. He would go out and blow 3/4 of his check and then at the end of he month say where did all the $ go? I am talking on DVD's and bull**** like that, even N64 games, but if I would take myself out to lunch for a total of $6 there would be hell to pay and I was wasting $. I was working p/t from home making good $ for a while when he wanted me to quit because he didnt like that it took me away from him :mad: Ok this is your whine, not mine, I would advise to set some ground rules, $ disputes is the leading cause of divorces. :rolleyes:

a few weeks ago, I pulled up to a stop light and the guy in the car next to me had a screen in his dash and was watching a movie. It was just him in the car. I freaked out. That should really be illegal.

Well I caved in LOL. Picked it up for him today!! It is in there!! :rolleyes: But my question is to myself, how often do we go on trips for 90 minutes ( length of a movie ) for kids to watch the whole thing?? Not to often. It is highly illegal to have a DVD playing with only one(1) occupant in the car...he could get ticketed!
Also it is "ILLEGAL" to play porn while driving...FYI!
