UPDATE Erniemarie and the babies

April 5 at 7-8:30 PM erniemarie went in for a Csection cause the preeclampsia got worse. First born is Caitlyn Lorraine at 5 pounds 2 ounces second born is Sophia Katherine at 5 pounds 6 ounces Both are 17 1/2 inches long. Babies are 34 weeks and are in the Infant Intensive Care unit but appear to be doing well. Caitlyn has a tube to help her eat but Sophia is getting the hang of the bottle quite well. Erniemarie is doing well, they are making sure the preeclampsia gets resolved.

Thanks so much for the update on Earniemarie and the twins. I am so thankful that everything is going ok!! KEeping them all in my thoughts and prayers!!

Saw Ernie and the babies today. Sophia had to have a nasogastric tube put in today because she was having trouble eating all the formula. Caitlyn and Sophia are out of the isolettes and in a regular crib. They are together -C0bedded-and they are reaching out and touching each other. They seem to like that. Caitlyn is starting to use a pacifer so that means her mouth is getting stronger. Ernie is still pretty sore from the C Section surgery and her blood pressure is still being stubborn. However that can be handled with medication if necessary. IF all goes well she will be released on friday. Dont know when the girls will be able to leave. Sophia might be released before Caitlyn.
She said to tell you that she is so grateful for all your good wishes and prayers and many many kindnesses. She is so overwhelmed by how wonderful her BBS family has been. THANK YOU from Ernie. :p

Talked to Erniemarie tonite. Both girls continue to be the STAR performers of the nursery. Sophia has the nasogastric tube out and Caitlyn has hers in but took all of her feedings today on her own. They have graduated from the Infant ICU to the Pediatric ICU Literally a step up in the world since they moved up a floor. LOL Caitlyn somehow managed to get on her tummy all on her own which is quite a feat for a 3day old Premmie. They got their hepatitis shots and were not amused. :rolleyes: Ernie continues to do well and is anticipating discharge on Friday. Girls will stay at the hospital but dont know how long. The pictures are not up yet but I promise the link as soon as I know.
Again THANK all of you from Ernie for being such a good BBS family to her. The girls are amazed at how many aunts and uncles they have and feel truly blessed. :p

Wow Caitlyn got on her tummy by herself already???? :eek: She will probably be the one that gets into EVERYTHING once she start crawling!!! LOL Wish we could all go see them!! My package has yet to go out.. Been a little strapped for funds.....but it will go out next week!! (I will wait until I know she is home) God Bless her and those little angels! :D

I was released from the hospital this afternoon, the girls are still in the Peds ICU and doing really well, here is a link to their internet birth announcement/picture Caitlyn still has her feeding tube in so don't be surprised. I truly want to thank everyone here who has been so kind to me and my girls. Your warm thoughts and wishes mean more than you will ever know

Just letting everyone who might want to know that erniemarie was admitted to the hospital on friday april 16 with a massive wound infection where the c section was done. The babies are home and being taken care of by her family. If you would like to send a prayer or a kind thought it would be appreciated. It appears that recovery will take months. IV antibiotics, wound debredment and packing are among the treatments she is receiving. She is missing the babies like crazy.

My Mother had the same problem after open heart surgery. Yes it does take months to recover. She was in ICU for 2 months. Everyone please pray for a faster recovery.
