I have had the Hiccups 3 times in the last 12 hours. It is really beginning to get on my nerves, lol. I ate some sausage links last night(I did breakfast for supper) and all I ate was the links. and immediately got the hiccups.(I am prone to hiccups by the way, and haven't had them in a while, but my family makes fun of me because of the way I sound, I get pretty loud, and they last for a while)

Anyway, finally got over them last night. Haven't eaten anything this morning, but drank some coffee(coffee usually doesn't set them off, pop does) and I coughed, and sure enough got them again(not as bad) Then just a little while ago, I got them again(milder than the second time) I usually get them when I eat something heavy too fast, or certain things trigger them (I even get heart burn from eating full size raw carrots--which I love, if I eat baby carrots, I am fine--weird I know) Think part of it is because I have been upset since yesterday afternoon(I usually don't get hiccups from that though, just loss of sleep--but I slept fine last night)

Anyone else ever have this problem?

I get them when I eat bread sometimes. Try breathing into a sack so that you are breathing in the same air you are breathing out. Or someone suggested once to put a teaspoon of sugar under your tongue and let it dissolve.

I hate having the hiccups.

Me too. I really sound awful when I get them bad(like last night) they kinda have a metallic sound to them, and even hurt sometimes. I have gotten to know alot of my trigger foods, and know to take it slow when eating somethings, but evidentally, didn't work last night. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a cute hiccup, or they didn't hurt, but unfortunately, this is not the case. LOL, sure do crack my family up when I get them though, especially if I try to talk, very entertaining(for them)

I got them twice yesterday. The ones that hurt your chest are awful, I get those quite often. My poor puppy used to get them about 10 times a day in short periods! Annoying things they are! I hope yours don't come back. :)

It could be worse... they did a story on the news about a year ago who has had the hiccups all his life... apparently they never go away... I couldn't live that way. Hope they're gone for good!

Get a spoonful of sugar. Just plain old granulated sugar. And swallow it. Don't drink anything with it, or chew it. Just swallow it. It gets rid of them everytime. Good luck!
