health club prices

Can anyone tell me what the average price for a club membership is? Also, do you pay by the year, month, three months, etc....? The only big names in my area are Gold's gym, Curves for Women, and Nautilus. There are some smaller gyms as well.

I go to Curves-Love it-it's $29 a month. I had to pay a registration fee (think it was $29) but sometimes the have special deals. It's automatically deducted from my checking every month.

I would check out some of the smaller gyms. If they are individually owned you might be able to work out a deal on price (no pun intended) :D There is one in my area for about 40 cents a day and it has all of the major equipment.

We go to the Y and pay about $40/mo for a family membership. They are just as updated as the gyms around here and you don't have to sign a contract like you would elsewhere. They also have free child care :)

I belong to Golds for $29/mo, & the good thing is that you can use any Golds in the world. Yes, they are all over the world.
