The next thread I see, that is talking about trolls...who's a troll, what the trolls did...ANYTHING, I will be removing those user's accounts. I don't care who it is or how long you have been a member. All that will be considered is, 1. You are stirring up trouble on the board. 2. You are making new members uncomfortable. and 3. That you have not listed nor heeded our previous requests to IGNORE the members that come here trying to cause trouble. In doing those three things, you, yourselves, have become trolls. It will no longer be tolerated. We do not care who is trolls, who anyone thinks is trolls, or even who wants to be trolls. It's all irrelevant until the rules of this board are broken. Until then, EVERYONE is welcome.

This needs to be LET GO. It's the internet. What people say, should not affect anyone enough for them to dwell on it constantly. If anyone wants that kind of atmosphere, I'm sure you will be able to find a board that is more accomodating to you, because what BBS is trying to be turned into, is NOT where the majority of members will want to spend their time. If you choose to take this all to PM, keep in mind that posts about those pm's...referring or eluding to this problem, will be considered the same thing as those mentioned in the above paragraph.

Earlier someone posted that those of us who clicked on the hb link that was posted everywhere here at bbs were now having our ip (?) used by someone. I asked in that thread what exactly this meant for me. I typed that link into my browser. I did not get to read any response to my question and I am guessing that the thread was closed cause there was a lot of troll talk going on. I am not trying to stir up trouble, I would just like to know if this has any effect on my personal info or if it could cause problems for me? I have antivirus and a firewall....can anyone help?

On most boards probally even this one everytime you post the admins can see your IP # that ishow they know you have more then one account Wether they use it I doubut it here but remember when you go to diff boards you are being looked at

I wouldn't worry about it. EVEN if someone had the knowledge to do it, they don't have access to your computer or your information, especially if you are on dial up. If they are "spoofing" your ip, all they are doing is putting it in and masking theirs with your numbers. It happens in spam emails all the time. It will say someone's email, but the name will be totally different. If you are worried about it, however, you can request that your ISP change your ip address.

Also, if you feel a site has questionably used your ip. Say if I took your numbers from a post you made on BBS, and used them in a malicious way, if you have proof, you can turn it over and have the board shut down for violating privacy terms.

Yep, what Katt said(I had responded to you) and just like the email spoof, the IP spoof can be traced back to the originator. When they spoof your IP, they are basically changing their proxy settings, and using your IP #.
