Whenmy aunt married her husband 40 years ago, she had to iron his underwear. His mom always ironed it, so of course the wife had to. I think he got over it pretty quickly though. :p

HA ... WITH 3 kids, when my husband comes home, he's lucky if the house is even still standing. I always make dinner, it may not be ready when he gets home, but within the hour its on the table.
Plus DH works from 5am- whenever(builds pole barns, they have ODD hours) so planning on dinner the same time every night is totally OUT of the question..lol

Yeah, right! So glad times have changed!
I recently saw a psychology test from the '30s, it was for a husband to evaluate his wife- some of things that counted as demerits included wearing red nailpolish, having the seams in her hose be crooked, not having dinner ready as soon as her husband got home from work, wearing a dirty apron around the house, expecting her husband to put the children to bed instead of doing it herself, and putting her cold feet up against her husband in bed.
I can see the last one being reason for complaint (it's something my husband gripes about, lol) but the rest

If I was "marrying age" in the 50's I would of stayed single LOL None of that would have gone over too well with me! :D

I bet either a man or a really dimwitted, servantile housewife wrote that lol Good things it's not like this so much these days. If any guy expected any of those things of me today he'd get a kick in the...:D and out the door!!! :-D
