I guess I'm bored and was curious about this. I used to change mine once a week, then thought once every two weeks would be okay. SS used to change his about every four months. But what is the standard? Once a week? Once every other week? Once a month? More during the summer than in the winter?

Once a week, sometimes every two weeks. Sometimes twice a week. Just depends on how 'dirty' we are in bed.

That's too funny to read it in words but it's basically the same here. That and depending on if we've both showered before bedtime.

I do them once a week for me. When hubby was still alive I used to change them twice a week, year round. We just took more showers in the summer:)

Once a week unless the dog has slept in our bed. Then I do it more because I hate sleeping on nasty dog hair. YUCK!

about every other day!!!
once every week to 10 days - sometimes I get too busy on the weekend or the washer is tied up (we are a family of 6) so it has to wait. We do shower every night before bed, tho. =D

I do mine about every other night because the dogs pee on them . I sleep on the couch and put my sheets up every day when I wake up and put them on my bed when I go to sleep. Sometimes if I get up to answer the phone or something they always manage to get my bed.

Sorry, but that is just gross! Think about all the dead skin cells you are leaving behind and sweat, body oils, etc. And the dog in the bed  I wasn't raised that way, no dog licks in the face, no dogs on the furniture even. That Petsmart commercial with the couple in the tub with the dog makes me wanna ralph everytime. I change mine every 3-4 days and buy new pillows every couple of months.
well in my daughters bed, who is 19 months old, almost every day but atleast once a week. she pees alot at night and even with the best absorbant diaper you have leakage and also she does other gross things like drool, runny nose, puke, what ever.
my other daughter is 3 and she usualy gets a bath right before bed time and goes to be at 9:00 and is up by 7:00, and i make the bed every morning and psray with fabric refesher. so not very often. basicaly i change them any time she has an accident(not hardly ever now) or any time she has been sick, don't want to hold them germs in, or just any time i think they need changed wich could be very infrequent like once a month or less.
my son who is 6 tomorrow tends to sweat and drool in his sleep he gets his changed any time i see drool or sweat in the morning, could be every day or once a week or once a month, you just never know. he also takes a bath at night and sleeps from 9:30-7:00 and gets the fabric refresher every day or lysol to freshen.
our bed varies aswell, we both shower at night but hubby's pillow case always seems to get dirty fast, i think his skin is a bit oily and that atracts dirt and he slobbers, lol. so i may just wash his case and nothing else, have it dry before bed time. my dog sleeps with me but she showers with me too and she only sheds twice a year and gets brushed, i groom my animals realy well. i realy just wash them when ever they are dirty, and i don't wash every thing nessasarily, i may just wash the fitted sheet and just stick another one on, my sets can mix and match because i have like tribal and jungle prints.
i know some people change them like every other day or once a week regardless if they are dirty, i see no need to change them if they are clean. my great aunt was realy bad about it, she even had safety pins at the bottom of all her sheets to make sure she never put the sheet on to wear the part that was the foot side was now the head side, even though it was clean she didn't want her face to be where her feet had been.
boy you get new pillows every few months! i hope you donate the "old" ones to charity and not just throw them away.
i wash my pillows in the washer just like my sheets and fluff in the dryer. i also vacuum my bed every day because of skin cells and dust mites.

I think alice changes our sheets every 2-3 days. i honestly don't know. i know they always smell dryer fresh, spotless, no crumbs, fuzzies, and she makes up the bed with hospital corners.

Every Friday for the adult bed, and every week to 2 weeks for the children's beds. Depending on how bad they sweat. Once a week in the summer for sure, as even though they bathed/showered sometimes it is just too late if you are out visiting and well, you know how kids can be!

Are you part of the Brady Bunch? Send Alice to my place, she can do the hospital corners on the bunk beds!
I throw the pillows away. I can't imagine someone wanting a used pillow. My only exception is the $50 latex foam one that I use, I love that pillow so much. I go to Sam's and get the two pack of regular pillows for about $13, so it's not much money to replace standard pillows, and the kings aren't but a bit more.

Wow you "vaccum" it? lol first time I've heard that one.
I do mine maybe once a month or maybe sometimes more, the bottom sheet more often. The big comforter I don't really like washing because it takes forever to dry.. I hardly ever do all the sheets at the same time lol Nor do I even know the techincal name for all the pieces :p But my blankets I've never had any problems with getting it dirty or anything like that. I take showers daily pretty much so I don't really got any problems at all with the blankets. So basically I usually only wash my sheet I lay on and the pillow case maybe once or twice a month.

Man! You gals are good~ what I'm getting at I clean houses, and one lady had me do her beds. Well if it was a month before I came back they would have the same sheets on.UGH! Nasty, I could tell you some tails. Anyway I do mine once a week. Hubby works nights so sometimes his bed gets it 2 times a week.

My girls get clean sheets every week ... Myself about every two weeks
yeah i vacuum my bed, is that weird? sorry, but hubby and i worked for kirby and learned all about the dust mites, so i vacuum the mattress every so often and i also do the pillows.
yes people do want used pillows, you may think it's gross but others don't, i mena if your homeless and goodwill gives you a pillow do you realy think they are going to say "oh gross! a used pillow" not hardly, they will be greatfull for a warn soft place to put thier head. even people who shop at good will will pay for used pillows, because they are sold for a dollar or so and these people can't aford to pay the price they are in stores, i know ten dollars or so doesn't seam like much, but when after bills you have ten if your lucky each week, wich week are you going to not buy diapers or other needed items and buy a pillow.

My whole entire life we changed sheets every Saturday morning.
I come from a large, clean family: 2 parents, 1 grandmother, 9 kids growing up. That was 3 full sized beds (for parents, grandmother, and only boy), & 8 twin or bunk beds for the girls = 11 sets of sheets every Saturday.
If I call my grown sisters on Saturday, they'll tell me that they just changed their sheets on every bed in their house. Guess Mom drilled that into a habit growing up.
If they get dirty, I'll change them more than weekly.
My DH could never understand the Sat. sheet changing routine. Seemed very odd to him. He said, "We never changed the sheets at home, ever!" I asked his very tidy Mom (My MIL) when she changed the sheets at their house. Her reply was this, "I'm a stay at home wife and I change the sheets every Monday - when everyone's at school or work!" She just about died laughing when I told her that her son/my DH told me they never changed sheets. Pretty funny!

I can't imagine throwing away pillows. Mine cost $175.00 a piece and I keep 4 of them on the bed. I didn't have to pay that much for them myself. I got them on eBay, (new) but that is what the JCPenney price tag on each of them says. They are goose down king size. And I've always in the past washed my pillows about twice a year. And I keep zipper covers over them and also pillow cases over that. I spray them with Lysol every week when I wash sheets and run them in the dryer with a downy sheet. Then I vacuum them before I put fresh cases back on. I also flip my mattress ever few weeks and vacuum and spray with Lysol when I do.

What kind of water pillows? That's sounds comfy! Can you order them online somewhere?
I change my sheets once a week, but how often I actually clean the ones I take off depends on when I get around to it...usually when I run out of clean sheets! lol
