Does anybody out there plan 2 weeks worth of meals and shop accordingly? I am going to attempt to do this. Anybody have good dinner recipes, I'd love to try new foods...I would love a great recipe for meatballs for spaghetti, I'm also looking for a recipe for a salad that you put grapes, brocoli and some kind of sauce, anybody have any idea what that is? It probably had other stuff in it too. I would love any recipe ideas, how about ground turkey? Anybody use that to cook with? Thanks, Shelly [email protected]

Any tried and true recipes would be great, we love breads and soups, and almost anything!

I would love to do this also, Would you care to share what you have planned so far??

I will share this recipe with you,

It is a crock pot dinner

This is what I do in my large oval crock pot

Take meat (beef, pork, or chicken(Chicken doesnt work very well, but I have done it) enough for your family. Put it in on the bottom with 2 bullion cubes of your chioce.

Then add Celery and Carrots then potatoes. Season with season salt, add water to cover and turn on low in the early Am, and you have dinner by 5!

So your shopping list might read

Pork roast or Beef roast (1.5-3 lbs)
Bullion cubes
Celery one bunch
Carrots one bunch
potatoes (I can fit about 2 lbs in my crock pot)

HTH!!! Let me know how you are doing so far!!

I do planned meals like that. I always make out a menu and then make my list from there.

Here are a few recipes...

Easy Meatloaf:
1 or 2 pounds of hamburger meat
1 green bell pepper - chopped
1 small onion - chopped
1 egg
1 box of Stove Top - I usually get the chicken flavor
1 can of tomato sauce
Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix 1/2 can of tomato sauce with all other ingredients in a large bowl, place into a 9 x 13 baking pan and shape into a loaf, pour other half of tomato sauce on top and sides, add a little water to the side as well. Cover with foil and bake on 350 for 1 to 1 & 1/2 hours. I check mine every 10 minutes after the first hour.

I usually make mashed poatoes, green beans (or corn) and rolls with mine. We love it! :)

Chicken Casserole:
boil some chicken (boneless or bone in) about 30 to 45 minutes, until done. Let cool on a plate. While it's cooking (or cooling) make some Stove Top according to the box. Shred up the chicken with your hands and place it in a 9 x 13 baking pan. Pour 1 can of cream of chicken mixed with 1 can of water over the chicken and them place the stove top on the top of the chicken and soup, spread it out to cover everything. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes on 350.

I usually make mashes potatoes and bisuits with this. :)

I belong to a yahoo group OAMC (once a month cooking) and while I do cook almost every night, there are great ideas, recipes and tips to make cooking quick and easy. (Prep ahead) Lots of web sites about this type of cooking also, and many great cookbooks too. Maybe check your library?

i can give you a tip for doing this. plan your meals so that you can use your leftovers for a new meal. for instance i would buy a ham and have ham and mashed potatoes and the like one night, left over ham the next night can make ham and cheese sandwiches or add some onions and use it in soft taco shells, than the next night take the ham bone and any other keft over ham and cook it with beans and it makes it's own gravey.

or i may make a roast one night and than shred it and add bar b q sauce the next night for lose meat sandwiches, if there's left overs from that you can make macaroni and cheese and add the left over barbq meat to it for a hamburger helper type dish. and you cna do it non barbq and just make shreaded sandiwiches and than like beef and noodles the next night.

i also do the same with chicken, havce it as chicken one night and thna shreaded chick. sandwiches and than chicken noodles.

or you can use left oevr meat and grind it up and use it to make a home made pizza the next night or tacos.

or make speggeti one night and use the leftover sauce to make pizza the next night. i often buy one main item and than can make many meals out of each nights left overs, but just remember that on day 3 or 4 if you are using stuff that was from day one it is still from day one and don't treat it like a new dish, like you would wantto eat it with in a day or two and not many days.

one good one is to use left over meat loaf cut into cubes as your meat balls in your spegetti.

also to mix things up a bit it doesn't have to be the very next day, like have the roast one night, the chicken the next and than the next night have the shreaded beef sandwiches and thean the next night have chicken noodles, that way you are egtting mor evariety, but my kids and hubby never even notice they are eating the same food when i use leftovers to make new dishes.
