They never go away from here. In the 'ladybug season' we've had as many as 52 in the bathroom at the same time, walls, windows curtains. And YES they do bite if you roll over on one in the bed and it happens to be your tender boobie. Left marks so I know it wasn't a nightmare. But I still love ladybugs:)

Are you all talking about "true" ladybugs, or beetles? Are they red and black or brownish? The red and black ones don't bite, but I sure know those pesky ones that swarm do! They also give off an odor when they get squished--

I think I remember from your other posts that you're in Ohio too, right? If you're talking about the "fake" ladybugs, the brownish ones, I don't think they ever went away- I have all my classes in the university library here, and we've been finding them in the classrooms all winter!

I remember mowing the lawn last summer and feelin a sting just to look down and seeing a ladybug stuck to my leg....ouchers

The red and black ones don't bite,
Yeah they do. They will eat raw hamburger meat too.:D :D
I would rather have the ladybugs, than the scorpions though. It won't be much longer till they are out in full force. They never went totally away this winter here.

Are we talking about the ladybug or the halloweenbug? The Halloween bug was the type of bugs alot of ppl had problems with last year.
They are Asian Lady Beetle or called the Halloween bug because of their color. Some ppl buy them by thr 1000's for their gardens
The multicolored Asian lady beetle is an introduced biological control agent that is spreading rapidly throughout the United States. Despite the fact it is an effective biological control agent in agricultural and landscape environments, it has become a major nuisance to homeowners because of its habit of invading houses and buildings in large numbers while searching for protected sites to overwinter in the fall (mid-October to early November) and appearing again on warm, sunny days in February and March. In addition, beetles may get in picnic food and drinks, "swarm" like bees and land on people. For helpful insights in dealing with the Asian lady beetle if it becomes a nuisance, please see the information compiled from Ohio State University(http://www.ag.ohio-state.edu) Despite these annoying traits, H. axyridis preys upon many species of injurious soft-bodied insects such as aphids, scales, and psyllids and is thus considered beneficial to growers and agriculturalists.
Although "multicolored Asian lady beetle" is the common name officially accepted by the Entomological Society of America, several other common names are also found in the literature: Halloween lady beetle (because of its pumpkin orange color and large populations often observed around Halloween), Japanese lady beetle (because Japan was the country of origin for specimens released in the southeastern United States), and Asian lady beetle.

I watched a show where they said that real ladybugs (red or black) do not bite but that the brown potatoe beetle which is often mistaken for a ladybug does bite. The potatoe beetle has the little black spots just like a ladybug but are brown. They also come in the house and stay too. My house gets them and I too thought they were ladybugs, they have also bitten me before too.
we've had them all year, no they arn't traditional lady bugs but that's what every one calls them as they look very simular. we were invaded last summer(ohio) and still had trace amounts all winter, you'd see them when you vacuumed mainly. they realy don't bother me at all though, they are cute and they kill other insects, the kids love finding them and playing with them. their good for my house plants. i know they can bite but we never get bit by them, i guess my family is sour, ofcorse we've never had them in our beds to roll on, they stick to the windows, plants, walls and floor. i vacuum everyday so they never are too much trouble, they just get vacuumed and thrown in the trash or emptied into my plants(if you put them on a house plant they usualy stay)

I've seen a few this winter too. Surprised me they were still around. I do NOT like bugs, we have Terminix spray every month.
