DH is adopted and we have been searching for years for his birthfamily. He grew up an only child and just found out a couple of years ago that he has 2 sisters and a brother. What a Shocker

Anyone searching for their birthfamily? any luck?

I have went so far as running an adoption registry website, still no luck:mad:

I was 2 months & 1 day old. :D

I am still looking for my biological family. I keep running into dead ends since the state I was born in only does closed adoptions. All I have is non identifying information. I don't have enough $$$ to hire a PI or to join every single registry/search site :( So I don't think I will ever find out more than what I know now. :(

I was by my daddy after my mom married him.My biological dad and my daddy were actually friends in the military while stationed in Turkey.

He (Biological) was a alcholic and tried to strangle my mom,my sister walked in and stoped him(she was 12)....mom left.My mom met daddy, married he adopted me when I was 4. It is all basically a long story!

I'm glad he adopted me :D

Wow this is so cool! I can't believe how many of us were adopted. Yes I was also adopted at the age of 2. In 1998 when I was 40 years old I found my biological family (well at least part of them).

I am one of 23 siblings. Yes that's 23! I have not met nearly all of them yet. Actually so far only 8 of them, but have talked to a couple more of them. No we don't all have the same mothers or fathers. In my particular group of siblings their are 8 of us with the same mother, but at least 4 different fathers (long story). However I have other siblings who have the same father as I do but different mothers.

For anyone searching for your biological family my prayers are with you. I always knew there was something missing in my life growing up but didn't know what it was. My parents never told me until I was 16 that I had been adopted.

I would be interested in knowing though of everyone who has been adopted how many have found or are searching for their biological families, and if you have found them do you now have a relationship with them?

I was adopted at 1 year by my grandmother, my biological mother couldn't handle a child at her age at that time, she was 16 when she got pregnant, 17 when she had me.

see Im one of the only ones prob. that knows the family, my original name, and I dont want to be in touch with them. Long story

lets just say I was taken away by the state because of abuse, malnutrition and so many other things.

I love my "adopted family more than I will ever feel about my "original family" :)

My sister & I have known our biological mom (we have different dads) all our lives. She was more attached to her b/c she was 3 years old when we were adopted. She spent more time with her and eventually went to live with her in her teens. I stayed with her for a few months when I graduated HS.

She's always been just a good friend to me. I've called her mom a couple times, but just to make her feel good. My mom & dad have always been mom & dad to me.

I know how my biological father is, and where he lives (still lives where I was born) but I don't have any desire to see him and I don't know much about him.

Being adopted has always been normal to me. I've never felt one way or the other about it. I suppose it's b/c I've never had any questions and if I did my parents just told me. I also knew my bio mom all my life. So I never really think about it. It's just like breathing; you don't really think about it but it's a part of life.

That's what my mom always says. She picked me. She says I wasn't born in her belly, I was born in her heart.
