I use it for mulch in my gardens. Cuts down on weeds. I used it one time only for packing a box to mail. Whew! Costs so much more than the foam peanuts/pellets.

So do I. I also used shreaded phone books for mulch. A word of caution though, if you are useing a razorknife to cut the pages from the binding of the phone book, don't I repeat DON'T lay said phonebook in your lap to do this. I did this 2 summers ago and sliced a nice 3 inch long and 1 1/2 inch deep gash in my thigh    . The truely sad part is about 4 swipes before I actually cut my leg, I almost cut a hole in the shorts I was wearing at the time. I thought to myself, oops I almost cut my shorts.  Did I move the book to the floor to finishing cutting, hahahaha NOOOOOO. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Yeah it did, and we live in the boonies too, so I got to drive myself 10-12 miles to the hospital. On the bright side, the er doctor was really cool, he taught me how to do my own sutures for "next time" and let me keep all of the sewing equipment when he was done.:D :D :D

Our local animal shelter asks for donations of it.
