View Full Version : what are your kids alphabet remditions?
my daughter, who turned 3 last september, sings the funniest alphabet song, wich made me remember my son's version. wich inturn made me think other kids out there may be singing even funnier versions. so what are yours? here's mine:
DD:
h,i,j,k, in the ghetto, p
DS(at around age 2-3):
h,i,j,k, M&M's pee
:D
My 4 year old insists it's Kch I J K Elmo P Q R X T U V ... The more I try to tell her it isn't, the more she argues, but looking at the letters she knows them all correctly.

My oldest son would say...

I'm still working with my youngest son (3 yrs old). He just mumbles when we get to that part. lol

Everything else was right. The funniest alphabet thing she did though was she used to call any group of letters "a b c d e f g". She would point to a shirt with writing on it and say "a b c d e f g on it". And the magnetic letters...she had them lined up on the crack between refrigerator and freezer once. Someone opened the fridge (which was above the freezer) and the letters went flying. She said, "Oh NO! My a b c d e f g fall down!"

Instead of u and W I would say me and double me!!! Hey if someone says you to me, it means me, right?

only one I can think of right now was ds used to say q,r,s,t,u,v, double do, x, y and z. I think he was about 2 and a half at the time I heard it.

my oldest had to had names for each character of the alphabet...except for the letter A. When she was 3 y/o and we were at the grocery store, she hollered out, "Look Mommy look. There is a DADDY-A-IRENE-ROBERT-YELLOW letter." She had just spelt out dairy!!!!

Those are all great! I don't have any kids yet...but I do have a tip for you parents who want an alternative method to teaching the alphabet. It is spoken with rhythm instead of sung (making it much harder to mess up lol)and goes like this:
A B, C D, E F, G
Say the Alpha-bet with me
H I, J K, L M, N
Say it once, and then again
O P, Q R, S and T
Say it soft and Loud to me! (allow children to say "soft" quietly and "loud" yelling)
U V, W, X Y Z
See how clever we can be!

My 4 year old today while she was having her allergy testing was singing
abcdefghijklmnopgrsBUTwxyandz...it was hilarious. I have heard her say it one other time and couldn't help but laugh a little when she sang it again today.

My dot is a little older (7), but in kindergarten they taught them to sing the alphabet BACKWARDS! She rattles it off with no problem. There IS a new ending--Now I've said my ZYX's, Aren't you glad you live in Texas?
When she was learning, we changed the end to Now I've sung my ABC's, next time won't you dip me in cheese? just to make it different.
that's funny, hey i know where tombal is, i lived in cy-fair area from 9-1-99 to 12-15-02
