I have never cooked a whole ham before is there something special I need to do with it and how long does it have to unthaw before I cook it, I wanna make it on Wednesday. How long does it take to cook a ham?

If it's a fully cooked ham, cook it at 325 for 20 minutes a pound. I make a glaze of brown sugar and pineapple juice or orange juice, put half on when I start to bake it, the other half last 15 minutes or so. Cover with foil for half the time and let it bake.

I do it the same way as jaybird except I make my glaze with orange juice, brown sugar, dijon mustard and a little honey also I score the fat on the outside of the ham (all sides) before I glaze it and put it in the oven

I also stick cloves into the ham between the pinapple rings with cherries in the center. Plus the usual can of crushed pineapple with brown sugar and mustard glaze. Gosh I'm getting hungry.
