Okay, I know the page title is a bit inflammatory, BUT hopefully y'all will read it before you yell or get offended or offer cookies. This article came up when a friend and I were discussing the stereotypes of religions and the truth behind some of them. For the record, both of us hold pagan beliefs, and come from more traditional religious backgrounds.
What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Think they're nuts?
Having lived in/around New Orleans for most of my life, I have come across plenty of "bandwagon Wiccans"/gothshock/real vampire teens, adults, etc., who do or say what they do, not because they honestly believe it but because it's the "cool new thing". Just to clarify, I am NOT saying all Wiccans are like this; I've met several who honestly believe in their chosen path and are fully devoted to their religion. Neither am I implying that Wiccans are the only ones that show any of these traits, I've met plenty who give the same negative light to Paganism in general.
But anyways, I found it to be an interesting read on the subject, and was looking for a broader range of opinions.
