I've got an ear infection :(

I am in misery. Last night my left ear started aching and a little later the left side of my jaw and teeth started hurting too. Today they are not better. I've tried Tylonol but it only helps a little. I don't have use of a car until Thursday when my husband has the day off. Or otherwise I'd have to have him come home early from work so I can go to the doc.

I HATE ear infections. I am already hearing impaired in one ear because of frequent infections when I was a child. :(

I am sorry for your pain. My daughter (nothing like a teenager with an earache!) was up all night on Thursday with one. I believe that is one of the worse pains that a person can have, cause not only does it hurt so much, but there is little you can do for them.

Make an appointment and get a friend to take you to the doctor. Ear infections are nothing to mess around with as you well know. Don't let it get worse. See someone before the infection spreads.

I have one - have had it for 3 weeks now -
I am going back to the doctor today because nothing seems to be helping, the first time I went she put me on ear drops, they didn't work - seem to make it worse, then i went back again and she put me on real strong meds, well I took the last of them this past Saturday and it's still there, and I can't hear a thing out of this ear, the doc told me that I would have some hearing loss - YEAH:eek: but I didn't sleep at all last night - just waiting for 9:00 to get hear so I can call and get in...........
you better get to your doc as soon as you can....

Now I have to go see a ear specialist...I just talked to my doctor and she is going to make me an appt. with one.....
MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE DOC AS SOON AS YOU CAN....my ear don't hurt anymore, but I cannot hear out of it and there is a ringing in my ear when I lay down......

Sorry you are hurting too. Mine is killing me but I can't go to the doc until Wednesday. I don't know anyone around here who could take me so I have to wait until Dh could get away from work so I can go, and that is not till Wed. :(

This sucks because the infection is in the ear with the most damage. I've been told by my doctor that the inside of my ear is so bad it looks like styrofoam (sp?). Uck.

Sorry about your ear. I have been fighting ear infections constantly since I was 11 and I will be 33 in April.I am deaf in my left ear because of this. One thing that always helps me is to take some sort of sinus medication like benadryl or dimatapp .You could try that to help with the pressure on your ear drum at least until you can get to the doctor.

When I was on the meds from the dr. she also told me to take Tylenol for the pain, so you might want to do that too...... I know this sounds really gross, but everday since I have had this ear infection, I have been flushing my ear with warm water and everytime I do I get "chunks" of infection coming out.....it's disgusting but it does releive a little bit of the pressure when it comes out....
I will let you know what this specialist says, I have to go today at 3:15...:eek:

Went to the ear doctor - just have a plain ear infection - it's not an inner ear infection so I won't loose my hearing permanantly.
He put me on two different kinds of ear drops and he cleaned out my ear - HURT LIKE HELL but I can hear again. He liked "scraped" the inside of my ear and had this little "vaccuumm" thingy that would suck out everything he was scraping out - man he almost put me on the floor like three times it hurt so bad - I have to go back on the 12 of this month so he can check it, but I can hear again and have 2 sets of ear drops that I have to put in 4 times a day each....

Poor thing :(

I went to the doc today and get this! I DO NOT have an ear infection! WTH? He could not explain why my ear hurts so bad. So I decided to go to the dentist today after the appointment with my doc accomplished nothing. My dentist said it is TMJ. I have an appointment with him tomorrow so I will see w hat happens.

Blackberry~ oh man I hope you are feeling better soon. My old neighbor had TMJ and he said it was awful.Can they give/do anything for it?
