-10* and Eletricity went off

Awoke at 6:15 AM with no electricity. DH lit candles and found flashlights. I attempted to call the electric company, but couldn't get through. DH turned on the radio - 10* , not counting the chill factor.
Finally I called 911 to get through. No lights in our whole subdivision. BRRRR! No coffee either. DH decided cold cereal wasn't doin' it for himself, and took himself off in this frigid weather to the next town for McDonald's - 5 miles away.
Just as DH was returning at 7:30 AM with breakfast, the electricity came on. Thank you, Jesus!

I'm having a bridal shower tonight and have lots of little details to finish. That was the other thing driving DH crazy - I had rearranged the diningroom and livingroom with extra chairs for the shower, and he kept bumping into things that were in the 'wrong place' in the dark. LOL!

UGH!

It was 3* here last night. Our power didnt go out but our water froze. :rolleyes: My DH forgot to leave the faucets dripping when he came to bed.

Im glad to hear your power is back on. At least we have a woodstove for heat if ours goes out.
