My little peanut (hamster) went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday morning.
I knew it was getting close. I prayed wed night that she would hang on just long enought for me to say goodbye when I woke up.
She did. I wrapped her in a butterfly washcloth and held her close.
I told her goodbye and that it was ok to go.
She took a couple of more breaths and she passed.
(sorry if there are typos, I'm crying as I'm typing this)

We buried her out side near my window so when I look out I can see her. I'm going to plant flowers when the weather is warmer.

Taz died Jan 14, 2002 and Peanut died Jan 15, 2004.

So far Blackie (my other hamster) is ok. His infection that almost killed him hasn't come back. My worry now is his left eye seems stuck closed. I have to use warm water to open it.

Hubby got me another hamster yesterday. She won't take the place of Peanut but I hope she's as playful and funny as peanut was.

So sorry for your loss. It is terrible to lose a pet, I have lost my share of rodents (love those cute fuzzy critters) and it's always hard.

I'm so sorry!!!! I know how hard this is, and what you are
going through. Having the other hamsters will make it a little
easier, but no one will take the place of your Peanut. Just think
about what a good life you gave her.

When we lived in the country, and had barn cats, we were told
by the vet to use boric acid on the cats eyes when they were
stuck shut. If I remember right, it doesn't cost much, and comes
as a powder that you just mixed with water.

this is Miss Peanut. and she loved peanuts (that's whats stuffed in her pouches)

Moogle~ peanut's eye did the same thing. I saw on the internet about using boric acid. I think we have some around here somewhere. If not, I'll got to walgreens and get some.
