This is a bit too close to home

A woman and her teenage daughter were found shot to death in their home very near to hear. When the police when to question one of their acquaintances that lived very close too, they found 2 men dead in that house too. Both these houses are on our newpaper route. We don't actually deliver to those houses but to houses very close to there. We were looking for an address Wednesday morning and we had gone past the house where the woman and her daughter were found. My husband noticed the door was open on the house. But we didn't really think this was unusual since there are several abandoned houses in that area that have broken windows, etc. The paper said this is how the police found out. One of the neighbors noticed the front door had been open for 2 days and didn't see anyone around. The police said they had been dead since Monday. How tragic and frightening too. They have arrested one man in connection so far.

WOW!! That must be a little scary for you all. I would just be parinoid from now on, if it were me!!

:rolleyes: That IS scary, but I wonder why someone didnt call the police if they noticed a door hanging open in WINTER for two days and no one around. I would think someone was trying to break in/had broken in and would have called the local PD to investigate ((remember it is better to be safe then sorry)) My mom lives in a small rural town and it freaks me out that she keeps the doors unlocked during the day and sometimes until she goes to bed, leaves her car doors unlocked, etc.

If there were several abandoned homes in that area it isn't surprising that no one really noticed. People tend to look past abandoned buildings. This is very sad. I wonder if they knew the man who killed them.
