Hubby and I have spent the last 11 years together, our first date was 1 month after my 16th birthday (granted, we've had ups & downs and ins & outs) BUT, being as I never knew my grandparents, his grandfather was like my own, he never judged, never asked, just was himself and told his stories, no matter what happened between me and hubby.
He was true family.
My son was blessed in getting to know him for 8 years, Pappy was so worried when Brady was born he'd never live to see him, but he did, when Gabrielle was on her way over 6 years (and some stuff)later, he had the same worry, but he met her.
For that I am glad.
This morning after fighting heart attacks, bypasses and finally lung cancer he went onto meet with his family who has left before him, including his wife.
He was a veteran, he holds 2 purple hearts, he fought for our lives, our freedom, he has now moved on from his life here.
