How do I make a temp. directory?

Can some one tell me how to make a temporary directory on my HDD??? Once again having problems having trouble with my "Dell from Hell". Will spare you all the gorry details. :D But to start the road to recovery it tells me to make a a temp directory--but it doesn't tell me how. If you can help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Right click on "Start" in your bottom left hand corner of the screen.

click on "Explore"

When your explore window opens, make sure and have your c: highlighted in the left hand column.

Then go up to the very top and click on "File"


Then select "New" click on "Folder"

Then it will add a box to the right hand side of your screen that is ready for you to type in a name.

Type "Temp" and hit enter
