They did catch him. He looks like a wooly bugger, not his clean way. Tikrit is where my son is suppose to go in Jan. People in Tikrit are shooting guns into the air in celebration of the capture. The Turks helped us on this one. Supposedly he was running the Iraq war from where he was hiding. Oh happy capture day!!!

'A Dark Era is Over;' Haggard Saddam Nabbed
After months on the run from coalition forces, a disheveled Saddam Hussein was found hiding in a hidden hole near a farmhouse and was captured without firing a shot.

'Caught Like a Rat' in a Hole

Capture Good for Bush in Many Ways
It will help with a U.S. public increasingly skeptical of his Iraq strategy, and it may also help calm the roiled Iraqi people.

Inside Iraq : A Legacy of Destruction
Even before the war that Washington launched in March to oust Saddam, Iraq's economy was in tatters after decades of wars and U.N. sanctions, its people cowed by a dictator's brutality.

I think this is a great victory not only for the people of Iraq, but must be a huge morale lifter for the men and women in the military. This man was the devil incarnate, and is resposible for more muslim deaths than any other human being in modern history. Estimates show it could be in excess of 1 million men, women and children. He killed not only for power, but for sport. This world is a better place tonight because of the determination of the United States and the many countries who are involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. He remains defiant, and will surely have a special place in Hell reserved just for him.

Captured Saddam Faces Tough Interrogation
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - American troops seized a haggard Saddam Hussein in a cramped hole near one of his sumptuous palaces Sunday, a humiliating fate for one of history's most brutal dictators. U.S. officials later said Saddam faces tough interrogations - about ongoing attacks against occupation forces, as well as his regime's banned weapons programs. The man who waged and lost two wars against the United States and its allies was armed with a pistol when captured in a Styrofoam-covered underground hide-out, but did not resist, the U.S. military said. In the broadcast images, he resembled a desperate fugitive, not an all-powerful president who had ordered his army to fight to the death.

Chamber Beneath Mud Hut Leads to Hussein
ADWAR, Iraq (AP) - When darkness fell, the Americans moved into position, 600 of them, from infantrymen to elite special forces. Their target: two houses in this rural village of orange, lemon and palm groves. Someone big was inside, they were told. But when they struck, they found nothing.
