View Full Version : 2 drop off's
yesterday in the cold some one dropped off 2 baby kittens, not too young, few months or so. we live in a small town but our house was built in 1908 so we have this huge barn out back, now i know people with farms get drop off's all the time, but having a barn hardly qualifies me as a farm, i have a town lot and have to obey town rules/regulations so it's not liek i can just let a ton of cats live out in my barn, or that i need them, its not like i have live stock and feed that needs protected from rats. so i don't know why they picked me. i guess they wanted to dump them off but still didn't want them to freeze to death so they picked my barn, but cats are not dumb, they came right up to my back porch, than around to my front porch wich is enclosed, normally the door is closed but hubby left it open, so they got in and were hiding, scared. the one is not very friendly, he's really scared but the other one is not bad. i was sick yesterday but i did manage to pet them each on the head when i took my daughter out to her bus, and hubby put down milk for them . this morning it was so cold, so hubby and i got them and put them in the house, i have seen the one a few times but the other is hiding some where. i could aford to feed them o.k., but everything else they'd need like shots and neuterd and stuff is out of my range right now. i hate to send them to a sheltor though. i'm not sure if we have any non killing ones around here or not.

I hope you are able to find them homes.Thank you for bringing them in out of the cold.
Try to not give them milk.It causes them to have diarrhea.Cats are lactose intolorant.:)
They do make stuff for cats called catsip, but not sure how much it is.
Wishing you luck with these poor babies.I hate people that dump their animals.

I think it's horrible when people just drop pets off. THey can't drive the extra ten minutes or whatever and take them to the shelter so they don't FREEZe to death? Or with dogs - so they don't wait there for their master to come back??
So terrible.
yeah i know cats are lactose intolerant, but they love it so much, people eat things that are bad for them too, hubby was spoiling them since they had just went through such a bad thing. i mean they are old enough to have been living some where a while, getting put in a car and wondering what was going on, than getting put out in the snow, and the car drives away. how terrible. i normally don't give my cats milk, well sometimes i will give them the little bit that is left after cereal, but that's not enough to cause a problem.
i will check outthose sites, thanks

We always have people dumping off cats too. We don't like it- but we can't stop it. We can use them to catch mice and rats. But most of our feed is in big bins that keep critters out.
