We finally fixed our computer and I was able to download pictures of our new house. (We moved in May!).

As you can see...we still have tons of bare walls which need pictures. But things are taking shape.

FYI..TJ is our grandson and Christopher is our son.

Actually...our son just got engaged this past Sunday and will be getting married in May.

Then hubby and I will have the entire place to ourselves!!! I am going to redo son's room in pale yellow and white...very girly. And my new dollhouse will go there.

Hopefully...someday we will have a little granddaughter!

But...everyone is welcome to come visit!

You have a beautiful house. I love the furniture in your dining/living room area. I've always liked Victorian type stuff.

You are welcome to come...

Well...Christopher had found a Barber Shop style song which he wanted to sing with the Dapper Dans at Disneyland. He wanted us all to be there. I had a contact and we thought we could work it out. Didn't work...

So...he had three other men (including his Dad) learn the song with him.

He is the choir director for a young adult choir at his church and they performed this past Sunday. So...because his choir was singing, we all had an excuse to be at their church to hear them sing.

His choir rehearses during second service so after they sang, they all left church to rehearse. (He told them all that they only had a few more weeks until Christmas and that they needed to rehearse for it.) We all snuck out shortly after and followed them to outside the room where they were rehearsing.

Anyway...at one point Christopher left the room...coming back with his dad and the other two guys. (The rest of us came in the back door...but Shelly didn't notice us.) Chris explained that he wanted to show them how he wanted them to sound...blending their voices. They were all wearing these straw hats!

Then they started to sing. At first Shelly thought...how neat...Christopher had a nice surprise for everyone. Then as she listened to the song...she realized that there was another meaning.

He ended the song going down on one knee in front of her. Then he told her how much he loved her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her...etc. What was wonderful was that they were surrounded by friends and family. It was perfect!

She said yes, of course!

I like the green as well. It is the same green in both rooms. This is the green that I posted about several weeks ago. Bob spilled it on the carpet upstairs. We had it professionally cleaned and were wringing our hands over the fact that it had stained. Believe it or not...Oxyclean got the stain out!

I would love to be really bold and paint part of the living room walls a dark red. I need to get up enough nerve to do that one. Plus...we would need scaffolding to reach all the way up.

Maybe after Christmas sometime.

So where is this mansion? :D Beautiful pics. You mentioned about having one wall a dark red and having the green walls. Hubby talked me into having that one dark red wall and it goes fine with our green (mint) walls. I love the patriotic theme and the tile looks nice too (Hubby is a tile-setter so I notice these things). Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for all the compliments. We moved from Burbank, California to Saugus, California (Santa Clarita Valley).

With our particular builder, the only things you can upgrade are floors and add wall coverings...which we did All the other upgrades are already included...i.e., corian countertops, jacuzzi tub, etc.

We would have loved to have put in hardwood floors...but we have two dogs and were discouraged from doing it from many people. We went with the tile (hubby's dad was a mason) and I do love it. It is very low maintenance and is quite beautiful. The downside is that it is very hard on the feet when walking barefoot...which I used to do. I now have to be sure that I have something on my feet or they start to hurt after a while.

And as for the red walls...I know it would look great...it is just that I have to be bold!

We like the balcony too. Sammy (the cat) fell off it the second day we had him. He wasn't hurt and it hasn't stopped him from walking on the outside ledge.

We are going to decorate it with lighted garland and hang a very large wreath from it. Won't that be pretty?

He likes it too. I have been saving "lithos" for years...ever since I started working for Disney. I didn't even frame all of them that I have...but the walls started filling up.

There is a Mickey Mouse border which is for sale in the Disney catalog. I'm pondering whether I should get it or just figure the room is busy enough as it is.

The border isn't too busy...just one square with Mickey Mouse...then another square with a big "M" in it...and then the pattern repeats.

I THINK THE BORDER SOUNDS CUTE, NOT TOO BUSY.

SO WHEN YOU GET A GRANDDAUGHTER WILL
HER ROOM BE DISNEY PRINCESS THEME ?

Actually...that was my original idea...but now that I have the yellow and white dollhouse...I am going to do the room around the dollhouse.

I love your house but I have to tell ya Sammy is just the cutest thing I want to come over just so I can pick him up and cuddle him.

Yes he is...but he is VERY BAD! He is only 10 months old now...so still has a lot of kitten in him. But he is so big that he can jump places he shouldn't be and get into trouble.

Plus...he is such a social animal. He HATES being alone. If we go upstairs without him...he meows REALLY LOUD. Then...one of us has to lean over the balcony and yell, "We're up here!". He then comes running up the stairs.

What piece is that above the fireplace? It looks like something I might have had when I was with Home Interiors?

Actually...the piece above the fireplace was hubby's and my Christmas present to each other last year. We REALLY splurged!!! It is a Thomas Kincaid. It is called Hometown Christmas and was released last year. (We have number 11 of 365 and it's an Examiner's Proof!)The piece over the couch in the living room is by Marty Bell and is another Christmas scene. I love Christmas pictures and leave them up all year.

But, Ladytiger...you have a good eye. There are several Home Interiors pieces in my house including the picture by the bed in the master bedroom.
