question about defragmenting

how often should I do it? Can I defrag to much and hurt my computer?

I defrag my Pc once a week but I have 3 diff users on it also, I am not sure you can hurt yur PC by defraging to much, but I am as far from an expert as possiable! lol

I do it about once a month. Sometimes it will tell me I don't need to defrag.

well I was just talking to mil and she was saying how slow her computer is and I suggested she defrag, she said she didnt want to do it to much cause she heard it would hurt the computer. I was doing it like once a week or two weeks, I dont want to keep doing it as often if it will hurt it.

Mil has at least 3 people using hers a day, depends on who is there lol.

No, it won't hurt it to do it too much... it may tell you it doesn't need it, but it's not gonna hurt it to do it atleast once a week (or more, but even w/ 3 ppl it doesn't need it more than once a week).
