I love shopping on black friday!!! I hate going with the hubby because he gets, like, road rage in the waiting outside in the lines. But I may go with my grandma this year, if I have some money. LOL

Yup! Last year, me, my sister and her friend who's her age, went. Me and Moe wern't tired so while my sister slept we stayed up and watched TV, we thought it would be cool to stay up until 5 and then go leave for Walmart... we fell asleep around 3/4 and woke up at 6! It was sooo funny, the three of us were freaking out, we tossed on clothes and woke my grandpa up, by the time we got there the line to get in was huge... we went to Walmart, then headed over to Target, then made our way to KB Toy store, where there were a bazillion people waiting to get in, and they only let 20 people in the store at a time. Stood there for over 2 hours, and got the last Bionical- should have bought it at Walmart, but at the time saving like $3 sounded worth it. We're coming up with a better "game plan" and going again. :) Hehe, our parents didn't think we'd actually do it last year, Moe's mom was surprised we went.

Love Black Friday. I always got up early, hit the stores and still got to work by 9. Last year DH even got in on it. Alas, this year I'm working the retail end of it since I'm the head of Men's aparrel. What an eye-opener. We're having a huge sock sale and there are hundreds of cases of socks everywhere LOL

I'm pretty sure they are in the paper on Thanksgiving. It's usually just crammed with ads.

I'm going, but not to buy gifts. Want to check out that pc at Walmart for myself.

I haven't before, my mom always refused to get out in that mess. Guess I'll just have to check the ads the day before to see if there's anything worth going through all that "fun". And if I can convinced my husband to be the driver.. lol. :p

Last year I made it a point to get to JoAnn's to get the 99 cent patterns -

I was wondering why no one else what there, then at the checkout realized that the patterns didn't go on sale until SAT !

SO....they cashier asked if I would like her to bag them and put my name on them, and hold until the next day -

Saturday, all I had to do was go to the cash register, claim the bag, pay and go - Got all of the costume etc patterns I wanted!

(the pattern area was packed on Sat)

Just an idea for this year............

(I make out a list of the patterns I want a week or so before so I can just start grabbing out of the drawers)

I think I'll venture out to Walmart and get me some of those 9.99 wrangler jeans. I've needed new ones for a while, might be worth it to try and brave it.

LOL I'm gonna do the same thing. Going to try them on Friday when I get groceries, that way I will already know what size to get, so all I will have to do is grab em during the sale;)

I go b/c I love the crowds. I guess I'm weird that way. I just love that everyone is in there for the same thing and it's so obvious that we have at least one thing in common. Even when they're fighting and trying to steal stuff out of my cart  I love it. :D

I will probably end up having to work that morning (at Walmart of all places). Heck, I might even volunteer to come in and work that morning cause that means I get off earlier......and I have already requested Saturday off for my family's Thanksgiving dinner. But, I have learned from experience (shopping for myself as well as work one Blitz day at Walmart) that if you wait until about 10am and walk through the store, just looking everywhere, you will more often than not find everything that you wanted anyways that someone snatched up and then put back down somewhere because they decided they didn't really want it after all. And the sale price remains the same until all of that merchadise is gone because we get it in especially for Blitz. Even if that is two weeks later, it is still that same price. Just a bit of advice for all of you who don't wanna brave the crowds.

We go every year. But not necessarily with the ads and a list in hand. We hit one of the bigger malls here, just spend the day. Or we drive down to the lake to the outlet mall. They've JUST opened St. Louis Mills, retail and outlet stores, 300 or so! I think that's where we'll be on Black Friday.

IF the ads have anything I absolutely HAVE to have, I send Stubby. HE can fight the lines and the crazy women. Otherwise, I'd rather pay 'normal' sale price for the item. It's not worth it to wait an hour for a store to open, only to find out they're out of the item I wanted.

The Walmart here last year didn't even put any of the special deals out on the floor until that morning. Nobody was allowed to even put it in their carts until the 6am time the sale started. There had to be a hundred people parked around that aisle, all with their carts blocking everything. You almost have to do that anymore, they only have so many of each thing.

Yes going after having not been able to go for several years. Got my safety gear ready!

Oh and let me tell all of you Wal-Mart will NOT ad match on black Friday items UNLESS it is something they already have listed and another store has it cheaper....so you can't get the $49.99 Game Boy Advance (K-Mart black friday list) at Wal-Mart for that price becausethey do not have it on their list.

ok so you mean I can go to wally world and show them the toys-r-us flyer saying they have lion king for $9.99 and they have it on sale for $11.00 and they will match the toys-r-us price??

or is it something else lol

Angelseyes28

Mine will price match anything other than the big ticket items like the gameboy advanced etc.
I got a ton of stuff from walmart last year off of other ads, like towels, playdough, videos, clothes and other things that weren't in walmarts sale paper. I think it just all depends on each individual walmart.

ANyone know for sure if you go NOW and get some of the items on the BF list, will they price adjust ?? I know if they do, you have to do it during the sale (6a to 11a). Just thought I'd go get a couple things now to make sure I get them. Thanks for any info!

nope.....not even if that were the only day I could buy presents. Crowds tear my nerves to shreds.

Last time I did Black Friday was '98. Best Buy had a 56k modem for 4.95. We got there at 5:30, they opened the doors at 6, by the time we got to the computer section they were gone. One of the guys who worked there told us that they only had 5 to begin with.

Decided then that I'd spend black friday at home sound asleep.
