View Full Version : To Some Buyers On This Board!!!

Recently I have had a non paying bidder on an auction and also some people planning to buy some of my stuff who have just disappeared. Now with the holidays approaching this has really got to stop! So many of us on this board have reasons for selling. We aren't just doing it for our health or because we are bored. We want our families to have great Christmas's, we might be unemployed and this is the only source of income, car breakdowns, etc. Everyone has a story. We patiently wait for payments and they don't come. It is really beginning to piss me off!
If YOU has a buyer bid or offer to buy something from us and something happens in your life where you can't, LET US KNOW, so we don't keep wasting our time and can reoffer those things for sale!
I have been waiting for several payments because at this moment we have no income. My dh had surgery and we are waiting for his disability to kick in.
Come on buyers, HAVE A HEART! If you don't intend to pay, don't bid. If you don't intend to buy, don't contact and if there's a problem let us know. We have enough stress in our lives.
Thanks for letting me vent.

And the same should go for some sellers. Some of us "buyers" have paid for our stuff and things are not mailed out when they say they are going to be. Alot of people are waiting weeks to get their items or having a hard time trying to track people down for refunds. Its getting totally out of hand!
I think whether it be buyer or seller you need to be courtesy to anyone you are involved in a trade with and make sure that you are complying with your end of the trade. Communication is a big issue. If you don't have the funds readily avaiable, then don't say you want to buy it. If you have some issues and it's going to take you longer to ship an item then let the other person know.

Ahhhh, I remember the good old days at BBS, when one could buy/sell/trade and have no worries...
Seems like its all gone down hill.......

I totally agree and another thing, if the person is selling something and you decide you don't want it, please let them know. It's very disrespectful to the seller.

Word of advice from the movie selling queen LOL - Unless you "KNOW" someone really well, don't send your stuff before receiving payment. YOU ARE ASKING FOR IT IF YOU DO! I keep a little pending list and it is amazing the number of people I never receive payment from (not just this board). It's just one of those things - honestly I don't think you can do anything about it. I don't even worry about it anymore. Yeap - know what you mean. I sell my stuff to keep my daughter's college education debt free.

Well I'm not going to stalk anyone for not purchasing an item. I just wish people would not bid on things then back out. As far as the for sale or trade board I really don't expect posters to hold up their offers. It's so fickle, someone can email you and tell you ok it's a deal let's trade, then they can email you back and say Sorry, changed my mind. It's a lot of backpeddling if you ask me, but when you are wheeling and dealing then that is to be expected.

Well I agree w/ Kelsey, that's why I don't do fsot.... the only thing over there that I can't figure out are all the ppl selling illegally obtained copies of movies and cds off the web and then selling them w/ the appearance that they are actually real. I mean, not only is it illegal to have them but is against FEDERAL law to sell them AND to ship them over state lines makes it even worse. Not that I really care that ppl have illegal material, I just can't believe ppl actually risk their neck over it... cause if it were me and I got something that someone let me believe was an original and then I found out it was fake... I would be livid, especially considering the prices some of them charge!
Just as a p.s., I read your reply AFTER I typed all this out, Barky. It is in no way shape or form directed at you just in case you felt that way. I was referring to the ppl that I have read about later from ppl angry that they got a burnt copy from someone here.
