EVERYWHERE I go online I have a BMG pop up that is following me. I ran Adaware and then installed Spybot and ran it (I removed it afterwards). STILL the BMG Music Service pop-up is on my tail. I'm also getting shutdown IE errors and have to keep restarting Internet Explorer.
Help PLEASE. My nerves are on end battling this evil curse. I will NEVER subscribe to BMG after this. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Now porn pages keep popping up. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Oh and AVG (it's all I have) says there are no viruses detected

Do you have a firewall?
I would get one, and a pop up stopper. might stop your problem.
What type of internet do you run? if it is anything other than a phone line, you definately need a firewall. It is harder(but not impossiible) for hackers to get in on your PC if you are using dial up. But it is easy as pie if you have cable ect. I bet you have a trojan running around (or possibly a virus, AVG doesn't always catch everything, I swear by norton's)

I had problems with pop ups drom a site (can't remember who) so bad that I couldn't stay on. I would close a page and 4 would pop up.I emailed them-told them if their site was so great,I'd go there myself.Pop ups stopped-try that and see if it works.

Try clicking this link and let the page load and it will tell you if some site has installed software on your computer that caused it. It only works on Internet explorer. http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/

I have marketscore inbedded in my browser. Because of this I cannot view geocities sites. I went to the marketscore website, emailed them and explained the situation, and they sent me the removal program by email. I ran that but it didn't work. I went to the parasite detection website but it doesn't say I have anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this, because it is very annoying. Thank you.

Have you all tried running Adaware in safe mode? If you run Adaware in normal mode, it lets the spyware processes run in the background and there are times where it cannot delete them since they are running. Just reboot your computer and hit F8 during boot up before the post beep. It will ask you to go into normal or safe mode. Choose safe..it will take a bit longer to boot up, but you will get there! LOL! Then run adaware again. I hope this works, it does for us here in the shop.;)

Jayd - If u try everything and find u can't get rid of it, have u tried just minimizing the popup window? It'll still be there but the annoyance of the pop-ups everytime u load a new page may not happen. Just a thought.

I have adaware and run it daily...it always says I have a registry entry...that tells me that it is there. But everyday the registry entry is there also. I have tried spybot, ran it while online once and then ran adaware afterwards and saw that spybot put registry entries on my computer. So I uninstall spybot.

Go to the software creator(if you can find them) Tell them, if they don't give you someway to remove their software(since you never installed it knowingly) or you will be filing a grievance with the FTC and whatever other government agency neccessary to make their life hell.

If that doesn't work, try these sites:

Can someone walk me through thiese instructions?

Manual removal: Unregister the files:
regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\MSIETS\msiets.dll"
regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\MSIETS\mslink.dll"

Then delete them manually

I don't know where to start. Start>????

How did it go? have you gotten rid of them yet?

Edited to add, jayd, what OP are you running? XP? if you have Xp you have a free version of MSN Explorer browser installed on your PC(if you didn't remove it) From what I gather, those 2 parasites(huntbar in particular) prey on IE, if you can't get IE to go to your pages you want, you might try the MSN till you get them fixed. HTH

Sometimes once you figure out the name of the program in your case Clientman, you can go Start, and search. And search for the name of it.... if the application comes up in search you can sometimes just click it and delete it... I have done this before and it's gotten rid of my problem.

But not ALWAYS... right now I am battling with Clear Search and it's driving me nuts. I found it under search but it wont delete for nothing! Says the file is in use. Spybot nor Adaware is catching it.

Good luck, Jayd.

I finally went into safe mode and ran adaware. I couldn't believe what I found: 87 registry entries. There were multiples of the following list. Here is the list:

Marketscore(Netsetter), MainPean Highspeed(dialer), BTV Industries(dialer), Searchbarcash, Alexa, BrilliantDigital(this one is very bad, sells my harddrive space and cache), Cydoor, Ezula, CoolSavings, GatorTest(this causes the computer to automatically download anything Gator related without your permission), Hotbar, IWON, ShopNav Hijacker, Adbreak, and AllCyber Search.

When I did this I was finally able to get Marketscore out of my browser yay.... but now my msn messenger doesn't work, my browser has a eboom tool bar, and my desktop was totally different than the way I had it before. I also found cookies, of course that are tracking cookies. But I am used to those.

To the person who suggested running adaware in safe mode, I thank you. I never thought to do that.

Today I updated adaware, ran it again and found more spyware. Then I went to the site and found another updated file. Downloaded that and installed into the mail file folder, ran it a second time and found 14 more. Hopefully I got it all this time.

Ok Ok I get the hint...I'll wear it in a locket next to my heart. I'd wear it next to my breasts but God didn't think I needed any. lol

I'm gonna have to figure out a way to cover up your "exposed" parts before I'll be able to make a pin up of it anyway. ;)

After the update page downloads there should be a remove button at the bottom of each update. Keep removing the updates you don't need. Then there should be a link that says review and download. It will be above the updates at the top of the page.
