i need a recipe for a butter cream iceining

I don't have an exact recipe but when I was growing up my mother always made her own frosting. She would use powdered sugar, butter, a little vanilla and she would add milk a little at a time until it was of the right consistency. If she wanted chocolate frosting she would add some unsweetened cocoa to it. I don't know the exact measurements but I know that she used a full box of the sugar.

I use 1 cube of butter or marg. 1 lb of powered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. I blend it together and add milk a little at a time while beating. It's less than 1/4 cup of milk. beat until fluffy
