39 weeks today......

I still feel lousy but doc said he thinks its a virus, so basically I have to suffer!!! Also he did separate my membranes, although so far I don't think its really did anything. One thing he said that I really don't understand now that I think about it is: I am still only 1 cm dialated, but my cervix is 75% effaced of thinned out. I thought the cervix dialates and thins out together??? Anyway I did not really think about it at the office so now I will have to wait to ask him next week. Anyone know??

As far as I know they can happen idependently. Dilation and effacement are two seperate things that need to happen. You are so close now... I know you will be 100% effaced when you are ready to push, so hey, you're on your way! I am so excited for you!

"Cervical Effacement and Dilation - The process of shortening and thinning of your cervix is called effacement. Dilation, or the stretching or opening, allows your baby's head to pass through at birth. Your cervix may thin out during pregnancy and even dilate a bit in these last weeks, but in true labor, effacement and dilation generally happens together."

HANG IN THERE jaynbobbi!! Cant be long now!! I have 5 days until my C-section and I am not sure which is worse knowing when or having to wait until it happens!!
