Need opinions on colored hair gels/sprays

For Halloween, 6yr ds is dressing up as a punk rocker. He's got blonde hair and I thought about putting in a colored gel and spiking it up. I heard from someone that the gels are hard to get out . . . use a hairspray. What are some good products on the market that holds a spike doo, but washes out in one wash? I wanna give him a funky doo, but don't want him to wear it for a week. lol

My sister has this stuff called styling glue, and it's red. She uses it in her short hair to make the back kinda spikey. Not sure if it would work if you wanted big spikes though. It washes right out though, I know it does because mom said she has to wash it out everyday before grandpa sees!

I don't know what is the best to use, but I've used some spray before and it was HARD to get out!
