What type of sage do you have? I need to find something I can put under my bed but that is quick for me to get into but hard for kids. I really, really like those fingerprint ones but they are $400. Tell me what you have and what you paid. Thanks!

Not here. I wouldn't mind having one in the household as long as we both had proper training.

but my fav is my .380 semi-auto!!i got it for less than $200.00 and it's the perfect size for a woman with enough "stopping" power to use against anyone!!!it fits perfectly in my purse and can use reg. or hollow point shells.(yes,i have a permit to carry the gun on me)

p.s. my MIL has a .38 special and like my gun better.

We only have big guns-a rifle or two, a shotgun, and a muzzle loader. I am the only person who can operate the .22 and nobody else knows where the ammo is for anythig else. NOBODY has figured out how to get the muzzle loader to work. My DH wants a handgun, but I think we are better off without one. Id want to use it for target practice, hed want to use it for target practice, and a handgun isnt worth a divorce.;)

No help here. I have a generic safe and it's in the closet, I hardly ever use it. I keep my 9 in the bookcase over my bed, but it has a trigger lock. I think it's hard to get off, so I don't how long it would take to get it ready to shoot in an emergency.

Fighting roosters is illegal. It is also very cruel.

I also have a .380 semi-automatic that I love. We keep it in just a generic combination safe in the closet when dh is home. While he is gone though, I keep it out where I can get to it fast if I need to...the kids don't know where I have it.

That doesn't belong in gemini's thread.

Ok, no discussions on roosters. To each their own.
I have a .357 magnum and I love it. we also have a .44. I want someting to keep near the bed. A gun is useless for home defense locked up in a closet or somewhere not close at hand or unloaded. I am sometimes alone so thats why I have one plus I love to shoot. They have some that have a keypad where you can put in a code and also have keys in case of a failure of some sort. Also they have some that sets off an alarm if someone tries to get in with the wrong code. I guess I will look into one of those. Keypad would be quicker to me than a combo lock. Thanks for the feedback!! Now gotta find one reasonable until the fingerprint ones come down in price.

Ok, reading back. Don't now what the heck I typed. The question was supposed to be what type of gun safe do you use.

I am wanting to get a .380 because my dad taught me how to shoot one. They are small, and relatively cheap. I've been going to the shooting range with my best friend. We've been shooting a .22, which is my favorite because the recoil isn't bad at all. There was anoter one by Kel-Tec that she has, that has such a strong recoil, that it bruised me. I can't remember what the calibur is, but it is one of those fold aways. There was also another rifle that I don't like that she has. The .22 is the most comfortable for me, and I wouldn't mind having one of those in the house, and a .380 to keep in the bedroom.

I was wondering -- I use "sage" when I am cooking poultry -- is that where the rooster came in ...

I use to shoot, now my eyesight is so bad I am more dangerous then the law allows so I sold my gun. I do keep a Louieville slugger next to my bed. My dad rigged it for me years ago - It is a hardwood bat with the center cored out and filled with a lead pipe.

Lol, Jolie. Thanks! I am a pretty good shot. We have taught and continue to teach our kids about guns but it is better to be safe.

Yeah, I have a 2 year old, so I got one of trigger guard locks. It takes me while to get it off. DH is faster at getting it unlocked than me, but still slow. I have a .380 & a .22 in the gun safe in the closet, the only time I take them out is when we go target shooting. (which isn't very often anymore) I have a permit to carry concealed, that I got when I lived in TN, but out here you can carry without a permit, as long as it is in plain sight. If I have to walk security at the apts here, I just stick it in the front waistband of my pants, unless I have my uniform on, LOL! Much easier!

I agree! I just saw an episode of Animal Cops not too long ago where people were arrested for it.

Sorry for going off the subject Gemini.

PLease keep the discussions on roosters out of here. There is a forum called vent and whine if you want to vent about it. Keep it out of my post though, please. I want specific info that has nothing to do with that subject.

sorry again gemeni. there are some things like fake alarm clocks and fake regular looking clocks that you can put your gun into the back of it and the kids will never know. if you go to a gun store they probably can direct you on your needs.

We have guns. My hubby has a gun safe that is fireproof in his gun room, I keep my 38 in the headboard. Of course, there is no kids here. I would go to a reputable gun dealer and ask this question.
