I was kind of sweating it out, but thankfully I am not listed...yet! So I will be un-installing my file sharing software cuz no I'm a scared after hearing they went after a 12 year old little girl! (who's mother settled out of court with the RIAA this morning for $2,000)
Here is the link of "offenders" who are facing prosecution:

They were all Kazaa users! Does anyone know if people who use other sites have been targeted?

Unnamed P2P users

Subpoenas have been served to ISPs for unnamed users trading files on the following P2P networks. The number of subpoenas served is listed in parentheses.

Bearshare (13)
Limewire (11)
Shareaza (2)

I have a question, I dont even know my user name on kazza, how do I find out what it is? And how do I get my info off of there?

If you never made a "name" on kazza then it will just be kazaaliteuser@Kazaa if you did make a name or if you just want to see go to options under tools and it will tell you.

I think so!! If you get rid of it and delete it all you will be safe, BUT I THINK!!!!! IN MY OPIONON IT is for SHARERS not the downloaders, but I am not sure.....ANYONE ELES KNOW>???

All the new storied i've read on this mentioned sharers not downloaders unless i missed it but who knows. If your one of the ones guess you'll find out cause you'll be gettin a phone call.

If You are going to uninstall the program, first transfer all of your songs(mp3) to a new file so you wont lose them.
My "Share" file is empty - everytime I download a song I immediatly transfer it to my other file that isn't being shared. (I feel kinda bad about doing that, but I am to paranoid not to right now)
Also, if you are not going to uninstall make sure you have only indicated a specific file for sharing otherwise it is possible that people have access to everything in your computer. (learned that the hard way).

I was told by a computer techie to move all the files out of the shared folder and put into another one. Also, in your profile check to see if people can share from you. There is a place where you can check off that you don't want people sharing your files.
