You can grow them in a box of dirt. :) Line a banana box with a plastic bag and fill it with slghtly damp topsoil. Sprinkle the spores over the top and set it in a darkened basement or closet for a couple of weeks. By then you should see a bumper crop forming. :D I used to get seed catalogs every spring and always wanted to get a kit for growing them but couldn't afford the whole kit. And they didn't sell just the spawn. :(
