I bought a used car last April from a used car lot(1995 Nissan Altima)-well last year I had tag transferred to my name and a few weeks later I got these papers in the mail that something was not notorized and then they sent me my title so I did not think nothing of it-well I went to go renew my tag yesterday and there is a "stop" on it and I could not get it and now I cannot drive my car-
Well the problem is that the original owner traded it in a car lot out of town and they then sold it to the car lot that I bought it from and the part that was not notorized was when the original owner traded it in and now I have to get in contact with the out of town car lot, send it to be notorized, and then wait for them to send it in or back to me to send it and then wait til its all processed BEFORE I can get my tag so I can drive MY car that I paid cash for IN FULL!! This just really pi$$es me off! I cannot understand how it went thru several sales and was never dealt with or noticed and I am the one that has to suffer!

I do not understand how that happened either..
I was scared when my parents gave me their old car, it had a WV title and I am in Pa, all they required was a bill of sale from my parents and it did not need to be notorized, I thought that was strange because in WV any car sale has to be notarized..
Hope you get this taken care of quickly....

i'm sure it probably happened because car dealers (in most states) don't have to update the vehicles tags before they can resale it, so they probably didn't realize it, till PEACH tried to get her tag.
HOPE IT ALL GETS TAKEN CARE OF QUICKLY!!!!

What Kissmslynn stated is the reason why you are having to deal with this mess. If you are the first person to have the car registered since the "original owner" traded it in.
What you got to go through is a big a$$ hassle. That should have been corrected before the dealer sold you the car.

Can you contact the lot you got it from and make them do the legwork for you? Sounds like they should have had all their paperwork in order before they sold you the car.

We returned a leased car in June. My husband said let's transfer the plates so we can save some $. Okay. Well, we leased another car from another dealer. WRONG MOVE. We recieved a bunch of hassles from motor vehicles about our old leased car not having insurance. We had to do a lot of legwork and nonsense to prove we had turned in the first car, and did not need insurance for it anymore. Cars are a pain. Taxes, tags, and so on...all money making schemes for the state...good luck.

I went today from where I got it from and he said he would take it to Commerce hisself and get it notorized. I ask him was there anyway he could give me a temporary tag so I could drive and he said no so all I can do now is wait:(
