We went on Friday (they had $1.50 admission until 5pm -- WooHoo!). We had a good time, but the heat was brutal! It started cooling down towards sundown, but by then the gangbangers were pouring in the gates, so we bailed.

Where is the California State Fair anyway? I used to go to the LA County Fair in Pomona...but that isn't due a few weeks.

Yea...Six Flags Magic Mountain just isn't safe anymore. That's why we go to Disneyland!!! woohoo...(and because we get in free doesn't hurt.)

The CA State Fair is located at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

The gangbangers didn't start showing up until early evening, when it got cool. Of course, that means we have to go during the blast furnace hours if we don't want to deal with them!

Six Flags Marine World isn't too far from here (Vallejo), and as far as I can tell they haven't taken that over yet!

It was hot yesterday but my two youngest played in the big fountain a few times to keep cool.

When the evening comes we stay away from the midway just to avoid the gangbangers.

We totally had to quit going to the fair where I grew up in a nearby city because of the gang related bs....so we just stick to our lil hick town fairs now :(

We were just in Sacramento! My hubby lived there when he was younger and attended Christian Brothers High School. His family lives in Oakland now. We are actually thinking of moving to that area in the next few years.
