We purchased a house a year ago and we are still getting their mail. Items like bank statements, bills, and all kind of business stuff. I always put it back and mark it that they moved Aug 02. He has his own business and we get that stuff too. Is there anything else to do.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe take it all back to the post office and explain it to them? There must be something that can be done.

Edited to add: Do you have their new address or phone number? If you do, contact them and tell them to fill out a Change Of Address form from the P.O. and explain that you are still receiving their mail.

We have a post office box (3 1/2 years) as well as our rural route (2 years) and we still get the previous owners mail at both. I've told the post office about it, but it doesn't seem to matter. I started marking everything "Return To Sender" hopefully it will work. Good luck getting it stopped!

If nothing else fails - contact the realtor who handled your house sale and ask for the new address and then write them a letter. Or possibly the attorney who represented them during the closing.
Good luck

LOL! My last name is Smith..when we were in our last house the previous owner's name was "Ken Smith". We lived in that house a few years, and kept getting mail from him (mostly from Marlboro). We moved, and did the change of address thing, and WE STILL GET mail addressed to Ken Smith! LOL! They ony lok at the last name I guess! We are the only ones in town with the last name Smith right now.

ha! I get mail for people that i know never lived here, because my landlord has owned this house for years and she lived here, then her daughter then a friend of ours. Also, there is another address somewhere here in KC that is the same as ours but is up North!
Good luck, I would mail the bank statements directly to the bank with a letter explaining the situation. Surely, they can get ahold of him sometime when he comes in to cash a check.
