View Full Version : Seems bad luck knows where to find me...
To make a long story short..I got my list of classes in the mail today and I thought ok cool..only one book first semester. Then i get to looking and find out i get all my alternates! I get to work in the Library(oh the joy!) it's easy..all you do is scan the books and put them back on the shelf but easy comes with a price, It's only worth half a credit:( Then I get to take World Geography(something freshmen take..long story on that). I was suppose to take Culinary Arts(nothing but cooking pretty much) II then take III next year to complete my cluster but guess what..didn't get it! So thats gonna screw my schedule because it means i'll have to take II and III both next year which would be ok(i don't mind the class) but if i couldn't get II this year who says i'm getting it next year??:( If i don't complete my cluster I'm not gonna get my Diploma unless i do some quick talking to get it changed(which rarely happens).
Ok I'm done with my stupid whine for the day.
Ok..I'm totally off..They screwed my schedule anyways..I said I have to take World Geography in my above whine but i just looked at my schedule and it says i have World History..I took that my freshman year:confused:

I have had the same exact problems with college schedules. At Ohio Univeristy, if the Southern Ohio Campus doesn't offer a certain cluster of classes, then you have to transfer to the Athens campus to even finish what you are doing. I have a friend who had to go to Athens for almost a year to finish her degree. She had to leave her daughter at home with her parents so she could do this. This happens so much that I am starting to wonder why they even offer certain things at the OU branches if you can't finish them without having to move. You;d think they would have been put there for that reason.
Okay, I vented too, but yeah, I know what you mean about those scheduling issues. That really really sucks. Good luck to you :)

See what you can pick up at "drop/add". There's always somebody who wil find a conflict and need to make a change. Get in touch with whoever you have to to get Culinary II and do whatever you have to to get into the class. Again, let the teacher or whoever know that you need that class this semester and make enough noise that they let you in.
I would have loved to work in the library. Even if the credits stink it gives you an in to know where all the good books are for each class.

Owens is like that sometimes too. They tell you that you can do everything at the Findlay campus, but sooner or later you'll be in Toledo, lol.

Mini, can you meet with a school counselor before school starts, or on the first day of school? I suggested before school, becuase the first weel of school is soooo busy for counselors, but if yo ucan get in there in the next couple of days (not sure when school starts for you), then maybe you can plead your case and get it taken care of before classes actually start.

Uhm, I would make an appointment asap with the school counselor to plead my case and make revisions!
Thanks all totally forgot i posted this:o We're only allowed to change classes the first two days(august 11th and 12th i suppose) and yes i will be in the office first thing..i will make noise believe me. I don't really care about the library thing because it's pretty easy and i have all my credits to date(never failed any class) so i'm probably gonna have more credits then i need to graduate which means a 1/2 wouldn't matter but it's gonna be so boring:D

lol. I worked in the library my freshman year of college. Loved it. It can be boring at times, but you might have another student in there with you and you might have access to a computer.
At the very least, if there's nothing for you to do that day, you can finish your homework so you don't have to take it home.

Yeah Mrs. John. I am thinking that maybe a lot of regional campuses are that way. :)
