I am so depressed right now. We live in Ohio and have been here for 2 years (may) and are originally from MA. Well in April an old employer of my hubbys calledhim and wanted him to come to work for them. He thought it over and finally decided it was a NO. Not really a big problem since the job he is at now wanted to make him management. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, the old employeer called again and this time things were different and my hubby flew back (on them) to check out the business and talk finances and all. We had everything set up to go to that job, a place to live and a second car and everything. He accepted the job, however they want to wait a few weeks (and could and would not committ to a start date), hubby told them that if he waits the place to live might fall thur and then it would be a longer time. They said that they will wait.
Current job offered the insult of an offer for the managers position. They offered him 17$ more a week for 20+ more hours a week. He turned it down. They are now making life very difficutl there for him and he feels that they are trying to get him to leave. On top of all that we have no money! I just went to the bank with his pay check and was happy cuz I was thinking that we would have about 300.00 in the account. He said that since I have been no where witht he children for the last 2 weeks that I could take them to Krispy Kreme and get them donuts (now the childrens are free when you buy a drink, so it was gonna be 3.00) and then I was gonna go to walgreens and pick up a gift for one of my twins from my son (it is on sale) well I get to the bank and they tell me that I can not get cash back as we are way overdrafted, so now what I thought I had until next week is not there and if any other checkes come in we are going back to over draft. I just called my hubby and told him I quit, I can't do this anymore, he can handle the bills and figure out the mess of a life we have. I just want to cry but can't cuz of the my children. We have no family here and only like 2 freinds (who are out of state right now) and it just stinks.
I just don't know what to do! Thanks for letting me vent here. No need for replies

It's too bad that his current employer found out about the job offer from his old employer. It would have made it alot easier on him if they didn't know. And it isn't surprising that they are trying to force him out. That is very common. Many businesses will ask you to leave and don't want your two weeks notice or whatever. I surprised that they haven't just let him go at this time.
As for the rest, it will take care of it's self. I would suggest that he call the new employer and get a definate starting date. For all he knows, they could turn around and decide that they don't need him after all and then he would be stuck.
{{{{bcjjhh}}}} I am so sorry for all you are having to deal with and go through~I am here if you need me sweetie~check your PM's

Many hugs to you my dear. What is the closest city to you. I live down in southern Ohio, the souternmost city. So, the closest big city to us is Portsmouth, if you want to consider that big. Anyway, I know you don't really know me, but if you ever want to talk, please e-mail me. :)

I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Things are going better. The computer is finally fixed and working somewhat. We are now on dial up from the dsl and boy is it much slower, not used to it but in time it will be what we are familar with.
We now know that even over the next few months it may be a struggle financially but the job in MA has come thru and we will be heading there for the beginning of October, so it will only be until then. I know that God will take us thru this time and help us get stronger for it. Thanks again for all the prayers and support, it is so very much appreciated!

Glad to hear about the job. 2 months will fly by. Just think you could have a yard sale to get rid of everything you aren't taking with you and you'll end up with some extra money.
Where in Ma are you going?

Glad to hear about teh job. Your husband should not let his present employer until the very end. Many employers will let you go as soon as they know that you have another job rather than let you work out the last two weeks. It's the new way of dealing with people who take new jobs.

thanks everyone. Well I will be in Plymouth MA right away, but that could change depending on when and if we buy anything. The job is in Randolph MA so we would probally go a bit closer to there, but not actually Randolph, that is where we moved from 2.5 years ago and we have been told it has changed for the worse:(
and my husband was gonna tell them asap but has decided not to as they have been jerks in the past, he will let them know about 3 weeks before we plan to leave, that way if they say bye we wont be sinking in debt.
