Land O' Lakes has issued a voluntary recall for its one-pound packages of salted stick butter because they may contain small fragments of metal.
The butter was distributed in 22 states, including North Carolina.
The company says it's working with the FDA to remove the butter from stores and homes. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or illness connected with the recall.
Production codes on the packaging of the affected butter include the date and K-E-107-P, K-E-108-P, or K-E-109-P. The company says anyone who bought butter with those production codes could return it to the store for a refund.
