Do any of you know whether or not if you take petunias inside over the winter if they will survive? I know that sounds like a REALLY dumb question, but I gotta know!!!!! I have about 14 petunia plants that are potted and I was wondering this....

Thanks for any advice :)

I am not sure.

I know we have really mild winters here. My Girl Scouts planted petunias outside a couple of years ago and they still come up every year.

They are an annual. I really doubt that will happen. I've tried with geraniums before, and only once did one 'rebloom.' The change in temperature and climate will most likely be too much of a shock on the plants. But it can't hurt to try.

They're annuals. But if the winter is very mild, or you live in a warm climate with no long term freezing temps, annuals can 'come back' the following year. I have some dahlias that are annuals and have come up the past two springs...only because of where they're located against the house, a lot of mulch for protection and 2 mild winters. ;)
