We are going to make a HUGE yummy feast ourselves! :) My dad is coming down for the weekend to watch my son's baseball games and to be here Sunday. Anyhoo, we are smoking 2 slabs of ribs, a brisket, and a small ham, and adding BBQ sauce at will. ;) On the side will be baked beans, deviled eggs, cole slaw, corn on the cob, applesauce jello, homemade rolls, and for desert, angel food cake with strawberries. :p We are all drooling already and ready for Sunday to get here! :D I'm going to start taking tums today so I'm ready for the belly ache I'm sure to have. :D:rolleyes: lol

I'm cooking!! Hubby is a meat cutter, so I'm just gonna hand him some money and he knows to bring home what he wants!! He's already said he wants baked potatoes with sour cream, butter and chives. And everytime I mention it, the list gets longer!! LOL!!

We'll also have macaroni salad, develled sp? eggs, Claussen pickles, 'plain' chips w/dip on the side for the kids, Angel food cake w/fresh strawberries. My hubby and I are going to my daughter's (eeigh) house on Saturday because she is making dinner for her dad and for me since today is my birthday. She is smoking a turkey, making a jello cake and we don't know what else so far, but I've seen some yummy ideas.

We are doing our annual Fathers Day Clamboil!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

We are having Little Necks as an appetizer. Some on the grill, the rest on the half-shell :D :D

Followed by the clamboil - lots of clams (I can easily eat 2 quarts on my own & my 3 1/2 year old can eat a quart on her own! Never mind what the guys eat, LOL!!), potatos, corn on the cob, onions, hot dogs, sausages & of course - chourico (portuguese sausage pronounce sha-reese).

This year, we are also having boiled lobsters. :D :D They just came out of the ocean about 2 hours ago. (Gotta love being this close to the Ocean & knowing a lot of people who catch seafood for a living!! :D :D :D :D :D

For dessert, watermelon & an ice cream birthday cake for Mom - her birthday is the day after Fathers Day.

I am cooking dinner for Mom (tadbit) and Dad. Yesterday was Mom's birthday, so I am making a yummy strawberry jello cake with fresh strawberries on top. The turkey is smoking as we speak. I still am not sure what else to make with it. Maybe a big salad, some corn on the cob, any suggestions?

I don't know what to do, my dad is 9 hours away, so I don't get to see him, and my dh and I don't really have anything to cook, his dad is going to see his fil, so I guess we aren't going there, so I don't know what we are doing. I will probably make stew, but I don't know if dh will want to eat it or not. SO I have no idea!

I have to work 3-11, so the guys will eat something easy that dh is able to make himself. I'm going to try and do a dessert before I go though. I saw my dad last weekend and gave him his gift then :)

I feel kind of bad though. I haven't had much time or extra money so I didn't pick up any gifts for dh. His birthday is the 19th and I haven't bought anything for that either. He doesn't give me any ideas and every year it gets harder and harder.

It's wonderful to hear all of ya'll preperations for father's day. I wish I still had a Dad to celebrate with. :( :( I'm only 29 and Dad's been gone for 6 years now. It wasn't unexpected granted, he was 76 when he passed but still I miss him. And in case anyone wonders, he was my biological father. My half siblings are old enough to be my parents lol.

My Hubby is 35. He is the oldest of 8 kids. The youngest is turning 13 this year. The others are 33,32,30,23,21,and 16. They have their moments when they can't stand each other but they are close. I think they have gotten closer. The 33 year old lives in WV and we all keep in touch by e-mail. He gets to come home maybe once a year. The youngest 4 still live with their parents about 4 blocks from us. The other two (32 and 30) live maybe 5 minutes away. They all help babysit for my two boys. Mike does say that with the youngest he doesn't have as much in common with her. When she was 2 and we were first married he hated it now he seems to deal with it better. Mike's parents are 60 and 59.

We are going to cookout at my place. We're celebrating my dad's b-day(6th),my son's b-day(11th), and fathers day tomorrow. We're just going to have hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, noodle salad, potato salad and chips. Plus I bought a cake for my son's b-day and an 8 in cake for fathers day. I'm going to have about 20 people here. Including my dads wife(ughh). I got into it with her the other day, but thats another topic all in itself. But it made me feel better, everyone said it was long due, even my dad!! hehe

We had a 'discussion' last nite. I'm still po'd so he was on his own. He killed the rest of the BBQ ribs from yesterday's cook out. The gas grill was his Fathers Day gift a month ago.
