My 4 yr old is still wetting the bed, She does take a cup of water upstairs with her but usually doesnt drink from it, weather she does or not she still wet's the bed.
She does go 'pottie' before she goes to bed at night.
Is there anyone with any ideas on how to curve this problem or wipe it out intierly? I didnt have this problem with my other two.

She also sucks her thumb constantly, (my other two never did ), any ideas on that also??

lots of times their kidneys just don't grow as fast as they do. and they will eventually grow out of it. and sometimes its a medical problem, the thumbsucking maybe a coping mechanism to deal with the bed wetting. might mention it to her dr.

sorry not much help.

my oldest son did it till he was 15 and my second son never did it at all afetr 2 years old, my girl is still doing it, she will be 12 soon...the doctor sais it is something in the brain that has not fully grown, but it will, just slower then other kids. I never made a problem out of it, I knew they could not help it, and the oldest did grow over it; so will the youngest...but it is a problem when they want to go on camp or sleepovers...too bad.

My daughter did that too, she stopped when she was 4. I agree she will probably grow out of it.

My oldest son was a bed wetter, The doctor prescribed meds for him to help control it and he told us when he hit's puberty he will stop, sure enough as soon as he was going through the change he stopped. My middle son never wet the bed and my youngest son did and still on occasion, But with him as long as he don't drink anything 1 hour before bed and he goes potty about 20 times...lol (not that many) before bed he will not bed wet. He is also my thumb sucker and he is 8 yrs old, I don't make to many comments over it, he only sucks it when he goes to bed, it's his comfort and according to our dentist it won't hurt his teeth because he sticks the whole thumb in his mouth. I personally don't make an issue out of it.

I used to suck my thumb and wet the bed. I stopped sucking my thumb when I was 9. I didn't stop wetting the bed until 13. My mom found out that I was really depressed so I took my anger out in my bedwetting. I went to therapy and was put on anti-deppressants. Within a couple weeks of being on the anti-deppressants, I stopped wetting the bed. :)

My daughter will be 9 soon and she still wets the bed. Know matter what I have tried she just can't make it through most nights. She is a very heavy sleeper (a bomb can't wake her), and she has alot of allergies too. Her dad used to do it when he was little too and he did out grow it. Just put pull ups on her and try not to stress her out over it because it will just make it worse.

my daughter is going to be 8 in 2 weeks, she wets the bed every single night and sucks her thumb when she is idle. we have done everything we could think of to curb the bedwetting, limited drinking at night, pee before bed, we even bought one of those alarms but she slept right through it and it is loud. we took her out of the pullups because i thought it was "enabling" her and got a plastic sheet cover but i got so tired of doing the laundry so we put her back in the pullups. our next step is going to the dr for medicine. good luck. by the way, i still have the alarm email me @ [email protected] if your interested.

My friends brother did that, and he was still doing it when he was 15, I don't know if he still does it or not. Haven't seen him in years. But anyways, my cousin did it, and my aunt wouldn't let him drink anything after 7pm. That pretty much helped, except sometimes he would still have his accidents. But my friends brother, his was a whole different story. First is was because of something in his brain not developing, then it was cause he was doing drugs, and it made him not be able to control himself at night. He came to live with my family when he was 15, (because of the drugs) and when my mom and dad got him off of em and on some meds, he stopped. But when he went back home, he started up again. :(
