My lights have been dimming off and on, every couple of minutes, for the last few hours. I don't know what could be causing it, but it's driving me crazy....and let me tell ya, that's one SHORT trip! We tried resetting the breakers (or whatever it's called) and it made no difference. Our power company said they haven't gotten any calls from our area for anything like this...
Any ideas?

That happens whenever DD uses her iron. Sounds like something is draining the power. Look around and see what all is on. Good luck!

I think it started when the plumber was here earlier today. He had to use that snake thing that he plugged in...but I can't find anything new that's plugged in hmmmm...

Not all of our lights are doing it. The dining room and living room, and our front porch light and a light that's plugged in in one of the bedrooms. I don't know what to do!

We had this problem at an apartment complex we lived in.....they are called brown outs (not a total black out, but enough of a lapse in power to dim the lights). We called the the power company and come to find out THEY had too many things going on at one of the transformers and they had to come out and set a new one. Maybe your area is doing the same thing.

Maybe...they said they haven't gotten any other calls from our area, but that they will come out "sometime tonight" to see if they can see anything going on. I used to have Brown Outs in an apartment I lived in, but this is a house, so I've got no one to compare notes with. Argh! I just spent $300 I didn't have to pay for the plumber today. I have NO WAY to pay for anything else! I begged my house today, "Please, just give me a few months without anything major happening so we can save up for the next problem!"
I feel like I'm in a funhouse with this light flashing...seems to be every 25-30 seconds it dims then comes back in about 1-2 seconds. It's strange.

IT's very likely a bad breaker. We got a 2 am phone call from work because all the power went out on the third floor. :rolleyes: this is what the inspector deemed and said also that it could have been do to a power surge.

Oh sheesh! The power company guy was just here. I don't speak electrican-ese so bear with me. He figured out that the pipe that was replaced under our sink today is the culprit. It was a metal pipe that had a HUGE hole in it, The plumber replaced it with a PVC pipe. Apparently that metal pipe had something to do with the way the electricity is grounded in our home. When the pipe was removed, he said that made us have a "negative out". So basically half the house dims while the rest of it surges. He is putting in a work order and they are supposed to come out and do some work tomorrow that will fix it. He told me to make sure all electronic items (computers, tv's, etc) are unplugged before we go to bed to help keep them from being ruined by the power surges. <sigh> I swear...this could ONLY happen to us!
