Well, I had not luck today at the college. I was told that becasue my GPA was low, that I could not get any financial aid assistance, until my GPA was at least a 2.0. Then I was told that was district policy. I told her that the last time I was in schoool was 12 years agao, and she told me that didn't matter. OK, wahat pi$$es me off is I had to write a letter, just to get the aid, expalining the whole thing to her, and still got the raw end of the deal! To top it all of, Dh & I have totally screwd up our checking account, still ahve not sold our house, and my SIL & BIL are going to be moving in here with us!!! (us being me, DH, & my MIL, because we are living with her at the moment!) I told DH that we needed to get out crap straight and move back in to our house, take it off tof the market, and I will go back to work, since it looks like school is going to be out of the question for now! God, it sucks to be right about now!

Can you stay in your house til it sells? And if you have any extra $ from it's sale, put toward school? Good luck to you hon!

Was there some personal circumstance going on at the time, that caused your grades to be so low? I had the same problem getting my Pell Grant when I went back to school. When I'd been enrolled the first time, I was still living at home w/ my not-too-tightly-wrapped mom and my abusive pervert step-father.

My counselor wrote a letter for me to take to the Financial Aid office, to verify that at the time I was in school before I was under so much stress that I couldn't cope with the demands of keeping up my attendance and my work.

So they will make exceptions, if you can verify that you had a good reason for not getting good grades.

Well, DH and I both have discussed moving back into the house. The only reason we moved out was due to our money situation! I lost my job in May 2002, and I did find a job in Dec. 2002, but I got fed up wit hall of the crap I was having to put up with and quit in March 2003. I figured that the house would have sold by now, and I would need to go back to work! I guess thats what I get for thinking!!!! I guess I could just take 1 class, that way I would still get aid in the spring! And I can still work a full time job until then!

Don't know if the rules have changed but when I went to school the first time I came in low too, I was taking biology, algebra and chemistry only one class was a college credit so my gpa was low so they put me on probation or notice, that I had the next term to pull it up and that time my GPA was 4.0, see if they have something like that talk to someone else at the college about this other than who you are talking to even if this is the person who you ultimately have to deal with.
